It was when they first took over the Hexham depot. The 687 used to run between Horsley and Hexham via Corbridge. It was merged with the old 684 and one of the Hexham local services to create the current version of the 684. As you say, it looks like it's being separated into two separate routes with the 687 running as far as Corbridge. If the X84 is competing with the 685, then what does that mean for Wylam, Ovingham and Ovington? The 686 to Crawcrook then onto the 10?
