Last summer, for example, I was visiting some friends in Bedlington and to get from one end to the other only cost 80p for a half single so I got it for that when I presented my card.
In Tyne & Wear, bus operators would charge 60p(?) for Under 16s to travel on their buses. £1.10 for a day ticket.
I think if you use it well it can save a ton of money. Every Sunday for example I have to get an X18 down from Berwick, costs me £1, but think about how much more expensive it would be to get a lift down.
I think reduced fares for teenagers is a brilliant idea, as it encourages them to use the bus rather than get parents/guardians to give lifts (if they are available)
