A green MPD and a yellow MPD are operating today. I presumed deckers would be used so a bus could drop out to run a scholars. I was fortunate to be at Southwick Green last Friday and saw the schoolday only journey that terminates at Southwick at around 3pm. The driver of the MPD then went out of service and headed down towards the Queen Alexandra Bridge. I assume he was heading to Deptford, perhaps to then swap for a decker to run the scholar service.
I haven't travelled on the southern section of route to/from Silksworth, but loadings around North Sunderland seem decent from my travels last Saturday and today. However, I've heard from a family friend that the service is now a 'nusience'. There's not enough time in the timetable to serve the car park of Morrisons at Seaburn. Buses instead terminate on Whitburn Road. My family friend asked the driver if she could board at the northbound stop (which is much closer to the store). The driver said if it was up to him then he would let her, but apparently he's not allowed to. He must travel light around the roundabout and can only pick up passengers at the southbound stop instead. I get the impression this is proving unpopular.
