Usual Stagecoach policy - if it ain't broke, don't fix it.
Just think of how many current Stagecoach routes still use the same service numbers as they did 20+ years ago, wherever you think of, Newcastle, South Shields or Sunderland. I don't remember enough about Hartlepool or Teesside to know if the same is true there but I'm sure somebody will put me right!
