What an awful service Arriva provide, or rather don't provide. Already having cut the service to Evenwood to two per hour with a ridiculous 36/24 minute interval in October, they can't now even operate that. Waiting at Evenwood this morning for the 6 to Bishop Auckland, two buses didn't turn up, although a lady who had waited for longer said one had gone to Cockfield but hadn't come back. So asked the driver of the next bus to Cockfield what time he'd be back ... He said he wouldn't as he was late so he'd be going back direct. We got on and went via Cockfield and then direct to the A688 and back to Bishop via the West Auckland bypass, omitting Evenwood, West Auckland, St. Helens and Tindale Crescent, thus not going past any other passengers who'd been waiting for more than an hour. Come on Northern, extend the 18 to Evenwood. And come on Traffic Commissioners, do something about this third rate service Arriva fail to deliver. Yet they still persist with the totally unnecessary X1 from Crook to Darlington.
