I never understood the logic behind increasing the frequency of the 6, and losing the 6A. For the sake of an extra bus per hour between Durham, Bishop Auckland, Woodhouse Close Estate and West Auckland, I agree it just seems to mess up the level of service for those travelling to destinations beyond West Auckland. The loss of easy-to-remember "clockface" times for buses to/from Cockfield isn't ideal really.

JSB already run the established 9 service from Bishop Auckland to Cabin Gate and going around Woodhouse Estate. I agree it would be nice to see the 18 extended south to join the OK1 through St Helen Auckland and West Auckland to offer an enhanced 15 minute OK frequency and improve choice for passengers.
