Agreed.
One thing that continues to baffle me, is that it is always regarded as an extremely good ability, to be able to speak French. I would have thought by now that German would be seen as the language most will benefit from being able to speak!
I once got the sarcastic response ''because the Queen speaks it'' when I asked why teachers treat it like the language of the gods...
Just my opinion, but I think German should be the language taught to primary school children over French.
