But why take 3 year old buses off and put older buses on,after having the darts for a while, doesnt really seem very fair, the roads round Holy Cross and Rosehill/Archer Street are a mess, whatever goes on wont last 2 minutes

Can anyone please confirm or otherwise, the bus rally at the Metrocentre on Sunday.  It's listed in 'Buses Magazine' but I've not seen anything locally.
Thanks.

The 500 group mentioned it in their program, last weekend.

Surely its better having all the older examples in one place rather than spread out across different depots.......makes it more simple to replace when the time comes. They has been times in the past where vehicles have been downgraded before new vehicles were purchased.....angel was downgraded with buses few years older, what is the current Washington indigo had older buses placed on it before upgrade too

I think it is a good opportunity to make the 19 a fully Solo operation, with 691-694 allocated.

Still think it just looks like an odd donated panel.

(02 May 2019, 5:09 pm)streetdeckfan wrote My god that looks atrocious!

These mismatched front panels really cheapen the look of the revised Corporate livery. It doesn't look as professional as the front of previous corp. livery which didn't include any random coloured panels. Less is more when it comes to design. Hopefully they soon realise the error of their ways before they do too many more.

The only issue I can see with all deckers for Red Kites is the situation we had last year when 6118 - 6121 were not allowed to run on that service due to low hanging trees at Rowlands Gill, unless they swap them for the diamonds in summer months!

Hit the nail on the head, I do like the revised livery, but the blue on the front just doesn't work for me.

I must admit to thinking it strange the older examples are apparently going on a network where there is competition.
In your case you have 3 other alternatives to the older Solo's.

Yeah same, revised livery is great - except for the blue front panel.

Agreed it's awful, but there doesn't seem to be a standard new corporate livery yet as they are all slightly different anyway.

It looks like a spare panel the way it is now. Needs something to separate the blue and the red for me, as per the rear.

How long has 9083 git left with Gne. They should buy it from optare (probably has the ammount of time it has been here) repaint it into the new corporate livery and do the interior like the cobalt clippers with usbs, tables, gne red & black leather seats, add announcements, paint all the blue interior panels gray and the handle bars painted silver. Next they just update the displaysite to have all the same displays as the other spares at Percy Main and there you have it percy main has a new spare.
Also for the blue part on the front paint the black part under the windscreen blue

It will leave after the Refurbishments are done. There’s no point in buying it as it would just be an oddball in the fleet which is good from for an enthusiast but not a company.

Has there ever been a thought to add to the display that the bus does not stop during the express parts of a route?
The amount of times I've seen people try to stop the X21 and are then surprised that it didn't stop

GNE just wants to confuse the passengers, there using the prefix X on a bus service which will stop at every bus stop along the bus route, so in turn when passengers see a X21 then there will put there hands out. On the New X20 it will observe all stops , this service should only stop at certain places ie Sunderland city centre, park lane, Barnes park, Lidl, east Herrington board Inn, then all stops between houghton and rainton bridge then non stop to Durham city centre and bus station

The X20 will run the same as now, every stop to rainton evolve then non stop to carville then all stops to buisness park then down A690 into durham missing out gilesgate
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2019
It'd be quite handy if in areas where it's running as an express service, Durham Road for instance on the X21, at least some portion of the display should be taken up with a notice saying it doesn't stop

So the X20 stops at every bus stop on its route, should of renumbered it as a 20A, not really an express service between Sunderland and Durham when the passenger is only saving a matter of minutes from the normal 20.

I've seen people do this when the information is on the bus stop, about a foot away from their left ear. It'd just provide more information to be ignored.

It probably doesn't help that Durham council timetables are the definition of awful. So much information crammed into the smallest area.
Favourite thing about the Nexus timetables is it gives you an estimated journey time. I've had plenty of people ask me how long it takes to get to Durham from Bishop

Just seen the new Cobalt & Coast livery on Martijn Gilbert's Twitter. I hope there is more to the branding than that......? Is there anything under the advertisement boards?

Apart from that, looks good

That looks very half-arsed. Plus I can barely make out the word Cobalt over the silver (unless it's just the camera)
