The Durham 2025 logo is awful and is what limits your scope. There's really limited space where you could stick it on a bus, at least to be big enough to see, but avoiding covering the windows at the same time.

Could've done with some pictures places or people around the region (or as mentioned above, some artwork), IMO. It just feels like they haven't quite done the same amount of effort as the Sunderland 2021 livery.

Even though it was also just a modification to the fleet livery, it feels like they're really wanting to win it, but the Durham one feels a bit like a box-ticking exercise to me.

Gives a good idea of what they'd would look like if they were branded for the 4, though.

It already is covering the windows at the back - not sure Mr Stenning would approve.

Unless you're crouched down or laying down on that back seat, that is not going to obstruct your view.

I think the livery does the job. It’s just showing people that GNE are supporting the bid.

Searched for an image of 5401 in its current livery would be my uneducated guess.

Took them a while to repaint the Sunderland one.

More paint wasted on something that was never going to happen.

Ferrying the judges around on a Streetlite probably did the bid no favours too. GNE could have picked a better vehicle with less rattles...

To be fair to them, the judges won't have had one bus for the duration of their trip. 
There will have been a range of services and multiple changes to get to Durham City Centre that demonstrated the excellent value for money day tickets. 

Depending on connection times at Stanley Bus Station, they may have been able to pop in to Asda to kill some time too!

Because Bradford needs some urgent investment, whereas Durham is already quite well off? The Durham bid, for the county of course, said how wonderful it already is!

Well, it could be argued some areas of Durham need urgent investment, but I suppose most areas are fine.
