RE: New service X11
(17 Jun 2022, 6:23 pm)Jimmi wrote 6336/7 have smaller fuel tanks than the newer examples and as such can't last a full day on the X10 without needing to be refuelled.

I do wonder how a wait for a toilet stop could be facilitated at Middlesbrough considering it shares stand 9 with other services with Arriva's service 9 scheduled to depart 5 minutes after the X11.
It doesn't help that the first X10, 04:55 one runs till 23:30.

7128 and 7132 both off the road.
Decekrs again. Might as well keep 6377 on it

Was just out shopping and overheard some people complaining about their experience on the X11. They weren't happy that it was just a normal double decker bus and not the coach that was advertised, especially for a long journey.

I'd still take 6377, would be a lovely journey hearing the beast roar through the countryside.
but i understand that the passengers wouldnt be happy but really your kinda getting the same thing.
Comfy seating, USB Charging, Free WiFI and on them tables. You can at least have fresh air and a nice breeze on the decker whereas the coach you dont. I know there is no toilet but at least they said they would stop to allow toilet breaks.

It was probably 7132 before it went onto the 4274.

Probably no spare legal EU regs driver sitting around to do it at short notice, just hope there is not a lot of people waiting at peterlee for to go and have a nice day out in the sun, weekend day out ruined for some familys if there is, there is also a possibility one could be found if needed

This is a popular service now, they could have been 2 journey's a day this summer, maybe 30 minutes apart
RE: Go North East | X11 Newcastle to Scarborough
Absolute shambles. Terrible really for a once day service, anyone waiting at Peterlee, Boro and Cargo Fleet Lane just told ‘never mind’. This is where GNE will out people off using their other services, as it’s really bad customer service, I’d be fuming if I’d planned a day out.
RE: Go North East | X11 Newcastle to Scarborough
Would it not be worth it being reservations only for the coach, and then if needs must run a conventional decker an hour or so behind for non-reservations?

Said similar since last year.
6 P's principle isn't it? Except they seem to have that down to a tee.

There's going to be days when it is heaving and inevitably, days when it struggles.
A basic idea of numbers would help manage margins. Even taking in to account any administrative costs.

I'd be even more annoyed if I'd travelled to either of those locations as opposed to living in walking distance of them.
Imagine buying tickets, carting a couple of kids and bags on and off buses to get to Peterlee and be told 'never mind'?

They wouldn't have been told anything, as by the tracking, it went non stop to Middlesbrough!
RE: Go North East | X11 Newcastle to Scarborough
Plunging new depths of rank customer service, not even an apology? I can forgive the shit show planning here but…

Who actually handles customer service at GNE? How are they still employed? Look at the attitude and nonsense they reply with online, They’re an embarrassment to the profession.
Wistfully stuck in the 90s
RE: Go North East | X11 Newcastle to Scarborough
Is there not still coaches and drivers at Riverside that could have acted as a duplicate if needed?

Is a tachograph needed for the X11 or is it split like the X10 is?

Yes it is tacho, maybe a split in the registration (if legal) would not only help coverage for weekly/fortnightly driving hours but also for last min dupes if needed, newcastle to peterlee, peterlee to boro, boro to whitby, whitby to scarborough or what ever else would work for distances

When it’s a nice hot summers day, you would of thought there put on 6377 on, I bet no GNE employee told the passengers waiting for the x11 at Peterlee slip road and other stops that there’s going to be no bus today, I wonder how long the passengers waited for before deciding to go home after an hour at least when the service was timetabled to stop

GNE customer service were great before COVID, then they seemed to sack everyone and change the opening hours so anyone travelling at the peak times or weekends (so most passengers) can't contact them.

Don't get me wrong though, every time I've used the live chat the two people that only ever seem to respond have been very helpful and polite.

The service shouldn't be running at all atm imo.

There's not enough drivers to run the normal service for people who need to get to work etc yet they're shunting people on day trips to Whitby and Scarborough.

If you had the drivers fair enough but it should be bottom priority and it's not as if it's just suddenly become a problem.

totally agree with this. 4 hours between buses on the 25/28a for people who pay thousands of pounds a year for the privilege's of using the buses but making sure 1 bus goes down to the north east coast of yorkshire.  What does the driver do when he gets there btw?

GNE Customer Service should be open 7-7 M-F, 9-6 Sat, 10-4 Sundays.

Also why don't they put the delays of services on FB.

Also I don't think the driver does anything, excepts goes to park at EYMS Scarbrough Depot
RE: Go North East | X11 Newcastle to Scarborough
Public transport operators should have a contact available at all hours of operation (even if its not a customer service team and any complaints are logged for their return the following day). National Express have 24/7 contact available and so do most rail operators that run through the night.

Office hours isn't good enough.
