It's not that far to Split Crow Road or Shipcote Terrace / Dryden Road / Durham Road though and unless you live on Old Durham Road you have to walk the hill in one direction anyway (it's just the opposite way).

Mind that said I don't get why there's nothing going along Shipcote Terrace and serving Old Durham Road, even if it was just the 57 - don't believe there's no reason why they can't? The 57 sits around for 25 minutes every board doing nothing in Newcastle anyway - might aswell put it to some use.

Although Monday is now a pretty quiet day for commuting these days, it looks to have been a pretty quiet morning start for disruption
