Jan 2025 - GNE Engineering Shortage

RE: Jan 2025 - GNE Engineering Shortage
(31 Jan 2025, 4:18 pm)R852 PRG wrote Luke Akehurst, MP for North Durham and the IDF, has advised on his Facebook page that he has been 'assured' in a meeting with management today that the ongoing issues will be 'more stable' by the end of February.

So after telling Kim it was the freezing temps causing the problem, they've told Luke its the grit and the drivers are leaking its the engineer shortage

I’d say you couldn’t make it up but it seems that they’re doing exactly that. Come the summer, they’ll be blaming the lack of R in the month.

This from the GNE PR Newsroom at the time

Nigel Featham, Managing Director at Go North East, commented, "Simon brings a wealth of experience and high-calibre leadership to our team, and we are excited to welcome him on board. His proven track record in enhancing service delivery and engineering excellence will be invaluable as we strive to innovate and improve services for our customers."

So, he was either rubbish or witnessed what a mess GNE is behind the scenes and scarpered

Meanwhile, two of my GNE buses broke down today. Fab

Imagine spending over sixteen years with the same business and relocating just to realise you've been catfished.

Pre-Gilbert I think working for GNE was at least not a negative on a CV. I reckon these days it's probably a black mark

I don't believe that Simon Carlisle ever relocated.

He was certainly used to running StreetLites and StreetDecks at First West Yorkshire! (from where I understand he had retired).
