Whey aye - having a few days of speculation before it comes out of the paintshop in its new colour is a bit more fun! Wink

Good. Would really put Stanley to shame if they had 6 vehicles on loan...

All trace of gold has been removed and replaced by dark blue on Go North East's website for the X66.

The timetable itself, for now, remains gold.

As far as I'm aware of Dan, it has been like that for about 2 weeks with the blue logo button and the header photo on the actual page... It certainly was last week.

It might just be me though  Wink

My bad - it remained gold for me. Must be because I didn't clear my browser's cache.

I find it suspicious if people clear their cache as it deletes the history. He might have been looking at [starts with 'P'] rhymes with corn.  Wink Big Grin

Tongue, well we all delete our history at some time of the week, everyone likes a quickie now and then Tongue

It doesn't have to. I clear my browser cache almost daily, but retain my history.

I often used to clear the cache and history on my old phone as I thought it made it run slower.

Haha... But I was meaning that I hadn't cleared my cache to clear the memory of the images which had been saved in my cache (ie the old X66 logo). Tongue

(16 Apr 2015, 4:34 pm)RDan wrote Kinda moving away from the new vehicles just for a little while...

Ahead of new Volvo B9TL/Wright Eclipse Gemini 2 vehicles arriving for service 47, which, as confirmed earlier, is to be branded "Red Kite", the "Toon Link" branded Volvo B7RLE/Wright Eclipse vehicles have started to arrive at Saltmeadows for repaint. 4978 (NK54 NUH) is the first vehicle of that batch to arrive, and was in the process of being sanded down prior to repaint today.

So, what colour do we think it (or they) will go? Tongue

4978 has came out in a coat of red!!!

I agree. If they can get cars in the metrocentre, they can get a bus in Tongue

Volvo B10BLE/Wright Renown 4855 (R855 PRG) has been selected for preservation. As it stands, it seems to be going to the Northern National Restoration Group.

Edit: Just to confirm, 4855 is definitely joining the NNRG.

I for one, am thrilled that a Renown, of all examples a ''Lime'' that is a personal favourite of mine, has made it into preservation. Smile

Well a second ride on a Vyking resulted in the second breakdown of the week. This time it was 3971 (although this was repaired and allocated to service 824 this evening). These things really are unreliable...

I recall Go North East doing a similar style launch for the 4 back in 2013 at Washington Galleries, iirc you could play Connect4, you got a goody bag along with a Mini Connect4, they also did the Coffee Cycle promotion at Houghton, Concord and Heworth also in the lead up to the Vehicles entering service, It isnt pointless because a Bus isnt going to be there for you to Photograph, it all about publicity and promotion, promoting Service X66 and the links it provide between Gateshead and MetroCentre, whilst also promoting Go North Easts partnership with Intu MetroCentre Shopping Centre.

Bet you wished it was 4852 though? Just think, that will be stacked on top of other buses now.

Yes, it is a shame that 4852 couldn't be preserved. I've seen a photo of 4851 at the back of Chester-le-Street, barely a green panel on it... Still there!

But, 4855 is the best mechanically, and 4853 is apparently being tested this week, so I gather only the other two ''Limes'' will be out at the weekend. Just a heads up for everybody! Smile

(17 Apr 2015, 3:16 pm)leestransportphotos wrote What I meant was - It is going to be pretty pointless for enthusiasts... Not general public Smile

The event will be in the exhibition square, iirc that's where the big bungee cord thingy is, I've seen cars in there before, so I assume that the big silver panels that are in various places across the Centre are the entrances for the cars etc.

If they're saying that they'll be a "selfie bus" there, I assume that'll be the replacement name for "bendy bus".  Wink

There will be a bus there, don't you worry.   Smile
