RE: Stagecoach North East - Part 2
Indeed. And plenty of opportunity for unique photo ops too, as westbound buses are diverted via leazes park road and strawberry place.

Eastbound are via a "more regular" westgate road, clayton street, Newgate street.

Surely there should just be a separate section for people wanting to boast their Flickr accounts, it's not news and it happens far too much

There is.
I think it's fine when conversation could branch off the links (i.e. a collection of odd workings - though at times I feel they too are indeed excessive), but discussion can't really branch off from the above example in my eyes.
I have had a wee number of complaints via the PM system, and I know Bazza mentioned it on his Facebook group following a number of complaints too (to ease the number of photos being shared).

Adam, as a site admin, we really do have to cater for everyone's needs. While some may think that the posts are fine, others may think it's just to get a few hits from the site and that - at times - they're not particularly constructive. Can you just stick to the notable things in future - perhaps avoiding "Northern" branded vehicles being classed as an odd working too (as I received in one complaint)? Ta...

Although GNE reported the incident on their feed, the pensioner hit by a bus, was hit by a Stagecoach bus according to The Chronicle.

It happened on the junction of Bigg Market and Newgate Street.
Hopefully the pensioner is ok.

Hope the driver is ok, there may have been no passengers but that doesn't mean there was no-one affected. Think before you post.

It was only released internally a few weeks ago that Sunderland are to receive 38 'new buses' - quite a while after GBF was announced.
Drivers haven't yet (as far as I'm aware) been informed of the vehicle types in question though, and the general assumption is 36xxx (the 21 gas ones will most certainly not be 36xxx, so they've got that wrong!)

Generally speaking, if information like that has been released internally, it means the order has been placed and they're being manufactured now.
RE: Stagecoach North East - Part 2

Dan, it's 21 E200s and 17 Scania E300 Gas Buses. The Gas Buses will be 28001-17, not sure what the E200s will be as they will reach the end of the 36xxx series during the current order, I believe they'll flow into the 37xxx series.

Yes, that's right. Me being tired getting the numbers mixed up!
Didn't have a clue what the fleet numbers were destined to be for the Scanias though.
RE: Stagecoach North East - Part 2
The Enviro's will be probley's be in the 37xxx

Least the gas buses will get their own set of fleet numbers, be interesting if theirs another bid for the North east if theirs a 5th green bus fund.

Last I heard the Sunderland E200's were allocated to 36960-36980 but this may have changed since

34609 is on 20s today.

An accident at Sunderland Royal Hospital is causing delays to services 8 and 20.
Two Stagecoach inspectors are at the scene of the accident but it has been cleared up now. Anyone know if it was bus related?

I like this one from Stagecoach in Newcastle:

When other operators are cutting services it’s great to see Stagecoach improving Sunday services on the 30, 31 and 100 as well as starting Sunday services on the X78. It is good to see a clear communication on the proposed timetable changes from Stagecoach this is an example for others (who are less open on their changes) to follow.
I look forward to seeing if the Sunday allocations on the X78 will differ from the Monday to Saturday allocations.

Not sure if it's been noted yet, but the Great North Run page is now up on Stagecoach's website, on the Newcastle section:
http://www.stagecoachbus.com/Great-North-Run.aspx

An interesting one to look at though, is South Shields' version of the page:
http://www.stagecoachbus.com/great-north...ields.aspx

"South Shields Shuttle" service
This service will operate normal route between South Shields Town Centre and Pier Head, at which point it will terminate. This service will be unable to serve any bus stops along the Seafront or the bus stops near to New Crown. On Great North Run Day, this service will be operated by a closed-top vehicle.

Usually yes but not when decided to change #4 in Sunderland extending it to Town End Farm!

Like I said a few days ago, it has only just been released internally to drivers.
Providing nothing has changed, the 36xxx/37xxx Enviro200s will arrive late October, early November and the Enviro300SGs are set to arrive by late November, early December.
The normal Enviro200s will be out in service by the end of the year for definite, but the 300SGs may not be. Ultimately dependent on how long driver familiarisation takes.

Sounds good. That's my fault for not thinking of searching for the word 'gas' Blush. Was it Manchester and Lincoln also getting the same buses? Are they delivered yet?

No, Sunderland are the only depot getting E300GS (although Stagecoach did bid for funding for a further 20, they did not win the funding). Manchester are getting further E400Hs.
