I am going to say that I place a bet for the 46 (NHS) 13 (NEXUS), 18A (NEXUS) X10(MAX), X11(MAX), X12 (MAX), X6, 553(NHS), 554(NEXUS), 555(Quorum) and 64(Frequenta) as most boring
The best are both 43s, 46 (Belmont), 44, X93, X14, X15, X18, X22, 57, 57A, 308 (aside from the B5s) and the 84A(NEXUS)

The 4/X4 is also good.
Would like to do the X93, but never had the chance to do it yet.

Most of the services around Crook and Bishop are fab, with the exception of the 6, which is just average and the 5 which does a circuitous route around Newton Aycliffe! The X75/76 are lovely, especially with the omnicities.
Also enjoy the 57a and the 21 and 21a, even though they take an age to do their whole route.

Intresting:
8 Darlington - Spennymoor.
21/X21 Darlington - Peterlee - Sunderland.
21A Middlesbrough - Peterlee.
22 Durham - Sunderland.
23 Hartlepool - Sunderland.
24 Durham - Hartlepool.
46 Durham - Crook.
48 Durham - New Brancepeth.
56 Durham - Bishop Auckland.
57A Durham - Hartlepool.
81 Stokesley - Marske.
830 Middlesbrough - Ingleton (Dalesbus)
X1 Darlington - Tow Law (particularly Bishop Auckland - Tow Law).
X3/X4 Middlesbrough - Whitby.
X15 Newcastle - Alnwick.
X18 Newcastle - Berwick.
X26/X27 Darlington - Catterick.
X75/X76 Darlington - Barnard Castle.
X93 Middlesbrough - Scarborough.
Moorsbus.
Boring.
5/5A Darlington Bishop Auckland.
Might just be because it's my local route but it's mostly council estates and it takes a week to get anywhere.
22 Middlesbrough - Redcar Ings Farm.
Feel like it takes forever to reach Redcar.
63 Middlesbrough - Redcar.
Long... Last time I did this route it got stuck in terrible traffic, took around 90 minutes to do the route.
64 Middlesbrough - New Marske.
Feels to be a tour through deprived areas and again it takes forever to reach Redcar.
308 Newcastle - Blyth.
Can't bare any route that heads along the Coast Road as you are on and off at every junction. Actually like the rest of the route.
X12 Durham - Newcastle.
I find all the Durham - Newcastle routes boring, especially if they go through Low Fell.
X20 Newcastle - Ashington.
This section of the route is really boring, painfully un-scenic A road blasting.
X21/X22 Newcastle - Ashington.
The bit leaving Newcastle is boring, same reasons as the X20.
Some routes can be improved with allocations of buses I like.

I like the X18 from Amble to Alnwick via Warkworth and Alnmouth. I love the view of Alnmouth across the River Coquet.
I used to like the old Arriva services from Morpeth to Netherwitton and Scots Gap and from Morpeth to Hexham. Lovely countryside, unfortunately the cuts got them.

The old Arriva Scots Gap route had two journeys on a Wednesday and two journeys on a Saturday. I remember rambling up the valley from Morpeth to Middleton, having a pint in the Ox Inn and then getting the bus back to Morpeth at Scots Gap. This was about 20 years ago mind!
Spirit Buses service from Rothbury to Wallington was also a great run. Hopefully he'll start this service again this summer.

My favourite route by a mile is the X93, followed by the 46 to Tow Law and certainly Stanhope, which is magnificent.
I'm not a fan of the 64, it gets far too busy and the 82/83 as they run empty for most of the night... I sympathise for the Washington drivers when they get the contract!

Had a go up to Tow Law on the X1 and back on the 46 and I agree, Its a great ride. Though I've never tried up to Stanhope on the extended 46.

There is only one 46 journey a day to Stanhope, which is at the moment allocated a Lowlander or ALX, however the bus comes back from Stanhope Not in Service.

Not done the 46 to Tow Law yet although I have done the X1 upto Tow Law, in fact I did it just that yesterday morning. If I was going to do the 46 to Tow Law I would want a double decker.

That also is normally allocated a Lowlander / ALX

Went on the X12 today from Stockton for the first times I don't really travel that far normally, quite a nice route with some variety.

It has a bit of everything, doesn't it? I rather like the Sedgefield-Coxhoe stretch because there's things there that I previously never knew existed.
If you don't habitually do the various Arriva routes in Co Durham, I can strongly recommend them, btw.

I HAVE NEVER been on an Arriva Durham service before, I have only used Jesmond, Blyth and Ashington buses
