With the Lambton Worm getting the Drifter Versas. Which of the two formerly DAF services do you think got the best upgrade?

Waggonway or Lambton Worm?

Having had my first week on the Waggonway (and already having a bloody DAF back on it Angry) I'm not loving the Solars

Have any of the Saltwell Park Versas been in the paintshop yet? And how many drifters have been done now?

The Versa's on drifter are decent and the MetroLink Solars were also decent IMO. So I think it's pretty similar really. I mean the drifter Versa's are newer but I can't see Versa's been good on the 28 route.

Without looking back in weeks of posts, did you ever get a Connections 4 flyer through your door Andreos1 ? Plus, is Fencehouses all one word or is it Fence Houses ? Just a bit curious !!!

What have they got that would require a decker?

I sense your tone is like 'Christ, whats wrong now?' Big Grin

I dislike the Solars. Bizarrely not as comfy as the DAFs with questionable legroom, as equally as unreliable (service has not improved at all) and they take tight turns like the Titanic

Just wait until December 9th when I move and turn my full fury on the 21 Big GrinBig Grin (though I might jump ship to Arriva's X2)

In terms of buses, I'd go for the 21, but for cheap prices, go for the X2! - It's only £1.10 from Newcastle to Gateshead, £2.70 Newcastle to Chester, £3.50 Newcastle to Durham, with a £15 weekly ticket!

No, not at all haha.
The engines in them might be decent and workmanlike, but the ride quality seemed to get poorer and poorer as the months went on.

Mentioned a few weeks back about the rattling around the rear wheels on at least one of them (can't remember if they went Waggonway or Northern) and can't see the roads around Pelton or Grange Villa doing them much favours.

If you like a moan, then the X2 might just be the bus for you ! The buses on the 21 are spot on, but the unpredictability of the traffic on the corridor is a nightmare to keep it from hunting in packs

Yeah, you can't beat the Gemini's on the 21, they're fantastic! The Pulsars/Geminis on the X2 aren't that bad, either! Wink

They were both fixed a while ago.
Deptford have been alerted of every Versa with blind troubles since 8306 and 8309 first started playing up... there have been quite a few.

The addition of wi-fi would bring the standard on X1/X2 up to be level with the 21, not to mention be popular with the students on X1. Upgrading the whole service to deckers would be sensible but that would require a lot of investment not only in terms of fleet but to have Durham running the entire service, with associated dead mileage etc

To be fair to Arriva, when I give up on the 28 and occasionally end up in Chester Le Steet) the X2 is always on time, always clean and normally a decent bus.

The 21 seems fairly unreliable, has god awful commercial radio breakfast presenters shouting at you every 10 seconds and is more expensive but always a decent bus.

Since I'm moving to Low Fell and will be boarding at the Cannon I could always join Trent Chipchase on the Coaster Angel

You'll have something to complain about on the Coaster! - The reliability of the Wrekenton runs is awful.

I don't have a Yahoo or Flickr account so I can't see the photo. Therefore, is it possible if you, or someone else, can either put the photo on here or PM me?

Thank you!

Bazza has deleted the photo off his Flickr account hence why the link won't work due to what has been said by others which is shame as it was a good photo
