More than likely on staff shuttle duties.

Also they can act as ready spares if one vehicle goes lame or runs very late.

Hexham 'regularly' send out their spare before the incoming vehicle arrives - it keeps the schedules on time.

By regularly I mean that I seem to see it happening most times that I am in Hexham.

I didn't know that. Thank you very much for that.

TENs have a driver changeover at Hexham, so by having a 'rotating' spare vehicle they can cut out any delay that might have built up.

What possible benefit can a post like this be to this forum? The driver has possibly made an error, or possibly been on an authorised diversion.
Either way, I'm sure his manager will soon be aware, one way or another.

It is (and I know this one for sure, as I uploaded the new media to the vehicles myself at 3am last Friday!)

Chances are, the driver used the wrong destination code.

The evening/Sunday journeys operated by Angel Hybrids should use destination code X21E, though a number of drivers still continue to use normal X21 destinations.

An omnidekka hit 60/60mph on the 6 near harelaw today, and it felt safe in all respects. This proves that these vehicles are still full of life and really would benefit from an interior refresh. It would honestly feel as good as a brand new vehicle then. After seeing 6127 break down a few times, I was sceptical of how good these replacements were, how long until they might die etc, but my mind has once again been changed for the better.

Surely if they did struggle Go North East would have looked to replace them, like they did with the Volvos off the Wear Tees Express.

There's a picture of the bus at Washington depot on Facebook page "simply go north east".

Should get these for the X9/X10

I think it is the same engine that is in the Streetdeck, and we all know what people think about putting the Streetdeck on the TTX

Same engine, But with a 6 speed ZF Ecolife in it instead of the Voith.
It's also not limited to 50mph unlike the Streetdecks.

It can be if specified, But the demonstrator isn't.

Do buses have to be limited to 50mph to claim the BSOG grant?
I know the E200MMC with the ZF AS-Tronic Gearboc qualifys for BSOG but is not limited to 50.

They wouldn't last 5 minutes. The B9TLs are already dying a slow death, and they're not even 5 years old.

No, vehicles qualify as below, so by limiting the vehicle, a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions can be achieved:

From April 2009, operators of Low Carbon Emission Buses (LCEB) have been eligible for an additional payment of 6p per kilometre. An LCEB is a bus that is able to achieve a 30% reduction in its Greenhouse Gas Emissions compared to an average Euro 3 diesel bus of the same total passenger capacity.
A vehicle will not qualify as an LCEB simply by using a fuel type which allows it to achieve a 30% reduction in its Greenhouse Gas Emissions, unless the fuel it uses is a biogas.
In order to identify that a particular vehicle is eligible for the LCEB incentive, the vehicle’s manufacture will need to issue the bus operator with a certificate, certifying the vehicle as an LCEB based upon an independently witnessed emission test of a vehicle of the same type. An original certificate must be provided for every LCEB purchased by a bus operator. However, there is no requirement for each individual bus to be tested. The process is based on a type approval.
