Oh cool, thanks, i'll take a look.

Looking forward to seeing the new "Go North East" logo, when will be able to see it on 628?

---------

6141 and 6142 will be allocated to Washington when they enter service, this info can be seen on Dan's photo of 6142, these 2 will replace the Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President vehicles. This will provide a higher seating capacity on Washington's scholars services, as well as a younger and more reliable vehicle on peak-time journeys on "Red Arrows" service X1, which run off scholars services.

I wonder if the B7's will replace the 2 non DFDS deckers?

Not sure where  6144 (YN05 GZL) will be allocated though, only 5 more to arrive from Brighton.

Whilst waiting for my X70, an eastbourne coast liner bus from way back when me in burnopfielz of all places. Made a proper growling noise like.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - September 2016
Seems like GNE are making the new corporate livery a bit like the old livery on all buses, but lacks yellow paint? Or is it just me thinking that?

Looks better than plain red anyway...

Have you actually seen it yet..?
Either way, I'm more for plain colours than what I view as obnoxious branding. The plain black omnicities and midnight blue citaros etc, really liked them for the few weeks then.

Probably when the ex Brighton Scanias, Red Arrows Volvos, and Indigo Optares are all painted and branded.

I doubt the B7s will replace the Lolynes as it would be hard to put luggage racks on. Will probably be the 388x Presidents from Stanley.

I think the Omnidekkas be would decent on the 327, got plenty space for luggage racks compared to the current stock without having to alter the seating capacity to much either.

Someone told me he thinks the 60** presidents would be ideal

Does anyone know why drivers don't use Bus Full displays anymore, used to be common a few years ago but seems to have stopped now.

The football extra 21s tend to fill up at Eldon Sq then run non stop to the Cannon, lots of confused faces as it's sails by bus stops
Wistfully stuck in the 90s

But people generally want to be on time for their ferry. I could hop quicker than 6024 can.
I see a red B9 on it a lot. I don't feel there needs to be that many replacement vehicles, but hopefully they'll be some of the mediocre B7s. 6030 for example.
Don't want those trident presidents to leave stanley yet!

The "BUS FULL" destination displays were only ever intended to be used for the Great North Run Baggage Buses. They were not designed to be used in public service.

Whilst potentially a good idea - what happens if there's a red bus on service 21 (ie the ones you see on such a regular basis!) which is full? If the bus is on a shared corridor, how do waiting passengers know that the bus which was full was actually a 21 which was full?

If ever those displays were resurrected, it would have to be done on a route-specific basis: a bus full display which showed the route number for that service too.

6024 won't be retained very long.

Why convert 14 & 17 yr old buses for DFDS?

I think that Go North East will invest in some Streetdecks for the 327.

For a service that runs very scarcely? Doesn't seem likely to me.
