Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016

(17 Nov 2016, 7:52 pm)Dan wrote Must just be bus companies that think it's acceptable, then!

There's more than just Go North East using different variations of a logo at the moment...

No its not just bus companies, going back to the Cadburys example, they dont recall all their stock from shops on a rebrand, and I can assure people they use up their labels before using new logos, for weeks after you will get fresh stock with a mixture of both the old brand and the new, economics come first

Appreciate that things do not happen over night in terms of purging the old logo, but surely the continued application of it begs another question!

The decision may have been made, but it doesn't mean it can't be a bad one.
Maybe the old logo was put on by mistake!

That's not true. 698 and 700 should enter service on Monday.

699 has been taken from Saltmeadows Road to Deptford today, with 698 being used to transport the engineers from Deptford to Saltmeadows Road.

Just looking through the news and spotted this on 7092:

Having previously carried cherished registration mark K2 VOY, this vehicle has been re-registered as LA55 WWN. The cherished registration mark, K2 VOY, has been sold to a private buyer, in exchange for another cherished registration mark (X21 BUS). This registration mark will be allocated to Scania N94UD/East Lancs OmniDekka 6146 (YN55 NFE), which will act as the dedicated spare vehicle for "The Castles Express" service X21.

It looks like 6146 will go to Crook as a spare for the X21 and have the registration plate of "X21 BUS"

Could be wrong but is the other owner Stagecarriage? Just as one of their Transbus Enviro 300's carry the registration "X21 BUS" - https://flic.kr/p/L2z7fq

That's correct!

6146 is of course a little bit younger, and will be re-trimmed prior to entering service, providing a more high quality spare vehicle for the X21 service. Tarted up internally and externally, with its real age disguised by a private registration mark.

There's never more than one in service since 6032 found it's way over. 3888 will sit in for a replacement, but it shouldn't matter as they are only used for taxis, rarely even on scholars.

3 of the 5 Olympians should be allocated to the Scholars although the routes which need a low floor decker usually get priority (for obvious reasons) leaving the Olympians to be allocated to these services which means that more often than not, all 5 are allocated daily.

Eldon Square looks like a war zone thanks to Grainger St closure. Queues everywhere.

Not a single go north East employee about (contradictory to Facebook) and buses literally pulling into any stop. Angels all over!! Poor nexus bloke can't cope.

Awful crisis management

Managed to escape Newcastle before it really hit the fan. A ratty 3 year old in tow with a boat load of Christmas shopping would not have been the ideal end to an otherwise fun afternoon.

Noticed that the Prince Bishop streetlites are gaining route branding above Windows.

RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - November 2016
I realise that timetables (in Northumberland) are the responsibility of NCC, but who to contact?

New timetables have been put up at Corbridge Angel Inn, and the X85 times are omitted from the eastbound and duplicated on the westbound - so if you want to travel towards Newcastle you would have to cross the road and read the 'Hexham-bound' timetable.
