I wonder if there's a reason for 5332 (BJ10 VUS) not being stripped of Cinders, and partially repainted into the new fleet livery?

The very same. QR codes are printed on return tickets, day tickets, weekly tickets, etc.

There you go Malarkey. There's some info you can quote.

I find it quite amazing that staff can find the time to steal photos, yet when notified about drivers performing illegal manoeuvre's, they can't find the time to respond to an email...

I'm slightly confused, Andreos1? I'm not condoning the use of photographs without permission, but what has it got to do with a complaint you've made?

The Marketing Department, the staff within it, and the work being done, is completely different to the Customer Services team. That's almost like me saying it's quite amazing that the van which delivers my ASDA shopping was an hour late last night, but another member of staff at ASDA in Boldon found the time to put another loaf of bread out on the shelf.

For the likes of Arriva, their Customer Services team are based in a completely different part of the country, to where the marketing team is based. How can the work being done by both departments be compared? I'm not sure what your line of work is, but I'm sure there's a good chance that anecdotes could be created for other companies, outside of this industry.

Huh Huh

That's a great idea, as QR codes is almost used in everything now, some educational settings even use them as part of children's work now, like puzzles for example.

Cool, i can see why because the 35/36 doesn't interwork no more but Chester will only have 1 route with Citaro's (if the 36 moves over) so it would seem best for the 36 to stop at Deptford... obviously we don't know what goes on in the background though.

Maybe the mercs on the 61 will be left gold for a few year - instead of silver [SMILING FACE WITH OPEN MOUTH AND SMILING EYES]

Why can't a depot start to become standard for a vehicle? Stanley wasn't standard for Volvo B9TL, but it was given 4, maybe more in the future.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2017
574 has been working for Deptford today, was allocated to service X36 however was taken off prior to it's first trip as Deptford destination blinds appeared not to be loaded in the vehicle was replaced by 697 which also discovered a default, as to whether it was taken off or not i'm not sure.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2017
Castles Express (6307) was on standby at Newcastle Central Station this afternoon ahead of going out on Rail Replacements, spoke briefly with driver who said he could be sat there until 19:15pm doing nothing.

Wether it's true or not, but has it not got something to do with deptfords driver shortage, Chester don't have this problem.

Also it may not have transferred (yet) but 5234 was over the pits at Stanley today.

If that's the one which starts at Pilgrim Street beforehand, then yes.

Some revised Sunday allocations come into effect from today.

The Sunday operation of services 35A/X5 will now be allocated "Prince Bishops" branded Streetlites
The Sunday operation of services 28/34 will now be allocated "Coast & Country" branded Streetlites

A similar exercise was recently undertaken at Arriva North East's depot in Stockton, with "Sapphire" branded Streetlites being deployed on all of their services.

Surprised riverside aren't using a variety of their streetlites on the 97/11/11as. It's not a strong brand so I would have thought having 49/X66/53/54 streetlites which will just be at the depot all day aren't being used. I also think the short 1 at PM should be a minibus, it never gets busy on a sunday.

From my experience, solos would do on the loops too, but I may be wrong here.

The Saltwell Park Streetlites at Riverside are some of the older models of the type, Which doesn't feature the Micro Hybrid package that the younger Streetlite's are being used for on Sundays, To claim the BSOG payments that they receive by operating them.

Additionally, The PVR of most services at Riverside are higher than the number of spare 49 Streetlites spare on a Sunday.

Are both 14/X22 boards now booked for StreetLite's on Sundays? Apparently 5402 is out on there today on what sounds like the board that was booked for a Solar.

Would be no good have minibuses on the 1 - especially on a day like today when lots of people are heading down the coast. Sometimes the Omnicities have standees when it's this sort of weather.

Operate it like the 128 so it changes seasonally. I did it in jan and I was the only one on there and back.

Seems to make sense, on the 2 35's that I used today both journeys were not even 25% full

It isn't necessarily that they are cheaper to run; they qualify for BSOG and that is what counts.

If branding is so important, it's odd to have a tourist link for Beamish operates by a totally different branded bus considering the knocking other companies get for odd workings

First, in Aberdeen anyway, seem to have started using these machines as well. Assuming they're being installed today, as they certainly weren't in action on Friday.

Assuming the QR thing is to track usage, but it's surely going to increase boarding times?

I don't think it will increase boarding times. The barcode scanner is really good. I'm by no means suggesting that anyone tries it, but I've scrumpled up a ticket and then ripped the QR code slightly, and it still scanned with ease.

The scanner for passes is also much better than the current ones. You've got to get the positioning of the card spot on the current machines, otherwise it has a bit of a strop! These seem to work regardless of the position the pass is placed onto the scanner. So if anything, boarding times would be reduced by this.

Using the QR code will be quicker than passing a ticket for a driver to punch say in the instance of a return.
