34565 landed at Carlisle last night....towed in from A69, crank shaft gone. Looks to be going back to NE for yet more repairs.

They could send 34561 instead?
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2017
34564 is also now parked in Stockton depot yard - right by the door to Flowers.

Still haven't managed to find out what they're doing here yet!

Fares increase from 30th April

For Megarider Xtra users (like me), this will be the 2nd increase in just 4 months  Angry For Newcastle bus users as a whole, "We are cutting your services and increasing your fares. On the same day."

Is the Sunderland dayrider a new ticket? Seems to be rivalling Go North East as they are the same price

Single fares are revised as:

£1.15 > £1.20 (+5p)
£1.40 > £1.50 (+10p)
£1.60 > £1.70 (+10p)
£1.95 > £2.00 (+5p)
£2.35 > £2.50 (+15p)
£2.80 > £2.90 (+10p)

The Tyne and Wear Megarider has been scrapped.  You now have to buy a Megarider Plus if you wish to travel across the Busways region, which is an increase of £3.75 per week (+25%) or £10.50 per 4 weeks (1 month for Xtra) (+21%).

That's why people should just buy the "Smart zone" passes, £13.50 in Sunderland, and can use it on all the big companies buses.... least then if i miss the 3 for example, i can use it on the 56 - without paying extra.

Yeah, it's just a shame they didn't do multi-zone ones as they would be really handy. For example most people from North Tyneside would also want to travel in Newcastle as well but it is not possible with a Smartzone

Ye, that's the only downfall, maybe they'll announce something like that at a later date but i doubt it.

If theye scrapping the tyne and wear megarider that's going to be harsh on both the X24 and X34 but on the other hand is the Newcastle Megarider not the same thing . It was in the past. We need clarification on this

I wouldn't of noticed if you didn't say.

It looks like it, i can see where Stagecoach are coming from though, not many people who buy a day ticket will actually go to Newcastle everyday so splitting them is better (in some sort).

On the email I received, it very specifically said it was Newcastle ONLY and that travel to and from South Shields and Sunderland would require a megarider plus. I can't imagine that wouldn't be true in the other direction!

Couldn't have put it better myself. It is really bad timing in my opinion.
