RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2017

I very much doubt it, the only reason the 36 is moving is because Deptford haven't got enough drivers and Chester has

Can't speak for the GNE ones, but my only issue with them is that when I scan the QR code on my phone, the NFC chip in my phone communicates with the contactless part of the ticket machine, which can be quite confusing the first few times as the beep makes it seem like your ticket has been rejected.

There were rumours that deptford will be versa free depot, with the rest going to Chester and riverside, and also mentioned about Chester streetlites going back to Stanley for the coast and country, don't know why deptford could take on some of the allocation for the coast and country, and service 28/28a will be allocated the ex simplicity versas, these rumours are a few months old though so not confirmed .

Another Streetlite was spotted on the 23rd May too (same day as the above photo was taken), still without a reg and only trade plates visable.

So does the one in the original photograph - 164 DZ (Antrim).

Look in front of the driver.

Wrightbus is based at Ballymena which is in County Antrim.

IA registration is also from County Antrim.

It's defiantly for Go North East, confirmed in the comments.

(26 May 2017, 4:05 pm)Dan wrote Though still withdrawn; I am told that 5292 (NK08 CGO) has now been fitted with Wi-Fi, having been returned to Go North East, bringing the total number of vehicles in the fleet with Wi-Fi to 330. This will increase even further once the confirmed 18 Streetlites are delivered.

Coaching excluded as it is a separate entity, this means that approximately 52% of Go North East's fleet is now fitted with Wi-Fi.

Has 5292 gone to Blackburn yet?

I should start posting blatant lies on this forum to see if they get plastered all over Facebook too. Without credit back to the source, it would make a few people look quite foolish, when it doesn't actually happen!

I'm all for the sharing of information which isn't commercially-sensitive to the operator, and that was the whole intention of this forum being set up a few years ago, but I really wish information copied from the forum would be credited back to its original source, when it's pasted elsewhere.

I would too haha

There's been a few posts on the page, which have been copy and pasted and not credited, not just from here though.

Hopefully that includes the reproducing of information in their own format without crediting the original source too!

Speaking of demonstration vehicles, is there any truth to a rumour I heard that GNE are getting that Yutong one to trial soon?

It'll go against newest single deckers in the fleet so mostly likely be compared to the Streetlites, as the newest ones in the fleet which should start arrive in the next week/2 weeks.

It might end up on the Red Kite/DD/PB too.

It looks like a 1980's interpretation of a spacecraft inside. It's an odd thing, like.

It's nice to see GNE considering vehicles outside of the usual suspects of Optare, Alexander Dennis or Wright's though.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - May 2017
What are the allocation changes on Saturday at Deptford.... with 6/7 (7th as a spare) Versa going to Chester either the 2/2A or the 61 will have to have a new or a part new allocation so i'm wondering if the spare Citaro's will be allocated until the Streetlites arrive?

Was wondering incase any other allocations were due to change at Deptford.

That Yutong reminds me of the type of bus you see doing duties in the Spanish costas (Irisbus Crossway for example
