As far as I'm aware this cascade is just a rumor however it is a very strong one at the moment! So much so I believe there is a list of the registration plates kicking around the depot.

Double post I know but! The reason the Centros and Temsas are getting done first is because they were next in line for referb before the new livery was a concept. I dare say that had they decided when the cadets were made up to DDA compliancy they would had been the first buses in the new livery. It's just the way it's fell. I believe the Original Redcar Temsas will all get done 4703-4720 then the white front pulsars 1407,09,10,12-14,17-23,25-28

Was on a tense back on Halloween Saturday from Middlesbrough to Whitby,and it was in desperate need of internal refurb .it was a y reg I think,the seats were like sitting on concrete, but it could shift.im a bit surprised it was on a long Scarborough run.it was on arrivals summer timetable extra ,which came off on the winter timetable,so I think it was a stand in.it should be ok if they clean and change the seating.

It wouldn't be a Y reg, they're not that old! 59 or 10 or 11.

The Temsa's registrations do begin with Y, although they're not Y reg; could that be the confusion? Like YJ10DHE, for example.

The Y-EBR Lowlanders are still showing on the fleetlist, albeit with four of them listed as "for disposal".  However, 7439 and 7444 are shown as at Blyth and Belmont respectively - do either of these survive, or is the fleet list a little behind?

Last I heard on 7439 was that it was withdrawn following uneconomical repairs a few months back. Been replaced at Blyth by 7456.

Sorry, my initial post was meant to be 7439. Believe it suffered major mechanical failure earlier this year, and was withdrawn as a result. I assumed 7444 withdrawn quite some time ago.

I was on a few of the X21/22 MMCs over the Christmas break, and I noticed that if I rang the bell, it would ring 3-4 times from one press of the button. I've noticed similar things on the E200MMCs First have up here, is this a new introduction, or have these examples been due to a loose wire?

It was withdrawn because some drivers were refusing to drive it. The suspension was shot and it swayed badly at speed as well as the brakes (which had always been iffy on this bus) being very poor. No matter, Arriva certainly got their money's worth out of it, just like they are with the 15 year old ex London buses such as 7410, 7485 etc.

Shame, still seemed to want to shift when I caught up with it in the summer. 

Those ex London Geminis must be on their last legs now too to be honest. I was driving into Bedlington behind one on the 43 last month, and it barely made it up the hill. I was doing less than 5mph and still closing the gap.

They've always done that, even the Stagecoach MMCs

Actually they still shift fairly well considering their age. At least a couple had new (well reconditioned second hand) engines fitted within the last couple of years.

Haven't seen it reported but 7489 is now 9995.

Are you sure?  V506DFT has previously been reported as 9995, so has that gone and the number been re-used?

7489 is indeed 9995, 4506 is now Yorkshire based.

Wonder if its ok to have an optare solo with a dinted engine flap where the rear advertisement board is because that was what 2810 was like it also gad a wobly bit under where the front wheel is.

I imagine if it was an issue, it would have been picked up on first use check, or during the day in service. A dented panel is highly unlikely to be massively detrimental, depending on the size.

Indeed they are, believe they left the fleet in 2016. The ANE Fleetlist on here isn't updated all that often...

First two of Darlington's new Streetlights have arrived. No plates or fleetnumbers and without any branding at this stage.

MAX X93 Volvo B9TL 7405 had a Next Stop Announcement system fitted yesterday while VOR for MOT.

Kit came from 7489, which is now in Driver Training fleet as discussed above.

I believe the kit came from funding via NYCC last year that awarded enough to do 4 out of 6 branded vehicles. Only one was fitted to date due to an issue with the upper saloon mounting bracket. This has now been solved so the rest will be fitted imminently.

Apparently 7609 and 7610 will be stripped from the X12 to become the new Whitby Park and Ride buses...

What will replace 7609 and 7610? Lots of transfers coming up soon with the arrival of Streetlites and Cascades of Pulsars...?
