Gateshead Central Taxis

RE: Gateshead Central Taxis
The 592 skipped the route and was driving with doors open today. This will be my fifth complaint to Nexus about this route, Gateshead Central should have this route taken off them immediately, and giving to a operator who can provide SAFETY for Passengers as top priority. This is not the first incident of drivers driving with doors open on this service. I surely hope nexus can send a survey person onto that route, so they can see what is going on, although no doubt they will be on their best behaviour if they get a visit from Nexus.

You know whilst it's fully agreed that the driver shouldn't be driving with the doors open and should be rightly condemned but I ain't buying into the end of that video at all, too me it was a deliberate fall to emphasize the danger of the driver operating the bus with their doors open, the reaction and the way of the fall tells me that.

What we see is these young teenage lads would usually point there camera and start asking why your doing something wrong and being quite smug which obviously would not go down well with an adult regardless if they have a point or not. This guy obviously did not want to confront the driver so manufactured a fall instead and one could argue the guy should wait for the bus to come to a complete stop(especially with a door fully open) before standing up and put there phone away whilst doing so.

Unfortunately this is yet again an incident which will lead to the stereotypical of independent operators are just a bunch of cowboys with drivers that can get away with these sort of acts but would not last 5 mins with a bigger operator and unfortunately in GCT case that is probably true.

Hear, hear!

Aren't those minibuses fitted with seatbelts too, which are a legal requirement to be worn where fitted...?!  Angel

GCT YX07 DXE driving around Birtley with the doors open, not sure which route it’s on as don’t keep tabs on their routes. Rather unprofessional from the driver to be doing that. Saw them come past 3 times with the doors open while carrying passengers.

Noticed one of the orange Presidents working the 37 beyond peak runs since the schools have gone back.
Seems to stay on most (possibly not all) of the day.

It's been like that since the schools went back.  At least one Orange decker on the 73/37 combo all day, if not two !

Fiat YX11FRZ, in a navy blue base livery, seems to be new in at Gateshead Central Taxis.

Currently at Washington Galleries on transport for a driver changeover for the 37.

That one was a good one while it lasted, I can't see GCT repairing that as it was only a spare bus that saw use now and then.

It seems to have been on all week, or at least a few days this week and we are only at Thursday.
Seen it a couple of times.
The last time I saw it was Tuesday and it was bombing down the Washington Highway.

It's still out and about. I saw it on the 37 earlier this week.

The 37/73 seems to have been operated by 2x Volvo B10BLE and an orange double-deck for a while now.

Will likely be 2 deckers tommorow or a Bluebird.
Most 64 plate solos have been up in Four Lane Ends recently.

5157 ran out of test around July 2018 and with the loss of school contracts it was put on SORN and parked in the yard as VOR.
3167 also ran out of test and that one is parked in the yard at Blaydon as VOR.

Did they end up with another of the dual-door B10BLEs? I could have sworn it was 5157 I saw this week...

Just 5157 as far as I am aware so hopefully it has been taxed and tested within the past week.
