(12 Dec 2013, 2:09 pm)Liam wrote Speaking of the 56 B9s, they will be branded as the "Fab Fifty Six", using the same design style as present.

The first should now be branded, so I wouldn't be too surprised if it appears at Park Lane tomorrow.

Edit: The first two are indeed branded. As suggested, they carry the Fab Fifty Six branding as present. Main difference is the use of two lines of branding on the upper section, with destionations located at the top and every 10 minutes on the lower section. Oh, and the flowers remain!

Oh god, got any pictures?

According to a post on Facebook yesterday, the service delivery manager of the "TEN" realises there are some issues in regards to reliability, and there are plans for some changes in the future to improve reliability issues. I would imagine this is the VOSA registration for those minor changes.

Cool, Didn't notice the post.

Most just seem to be minor changes and a change in stopping places.

Wonder when GNE will post changes

Stopping places for X66 etc might be for the new depot so drivers don't have to walk from metrocentre

A lot of those services appear to be Winlaton-based too. I imagine changeovers will occur at Metrocentre rather than Winlaton or Gateshead/Newcastle when Riverside opens, so timings will have to change to compensate for this.
RE: Go North East - Latest
Probably quite likely to increase dwell times at Metrocentre and take a min or 2 out of Blaydon where changeovers will no longer occur.

RE: Go North East - Latest
When the new depot opens, the only driver changeovers at the MetroCentre should be on 10/10A/10B, 31 and 47.

49 group will be done at Gateshead, with some timing and route changes introduced from the 2nd February.

The registration for the 32 is only a minor one with the 08:05 ish 32 ex Newcastle (M-F) terminating at Blaydon now, instead of Winlaton.

(11 Dec 2013, 6:07 pm)Adam Malarkey wrote I fully understand that it's down to age and money from GNE's point of view and using that money to reinvesting in the Fleet, but at the end of the day there was nothing wrong with them and were in fine working order, plus they are DDA Compliant, compared to the SPD's/Olympians/Renowns and ELC Loynes which should of went before them as they are some of those 3/4 Year Older.

But the MPD only have 25 seats, and there aren't really any routes on which they could be used instead of bigger buses, certainly not to replace double decks. SPD will all be withdrawn by early next year - of course GNE could modify buses to meet DDA if they are keeping them

Quick little report from my SPD 56 this morning. Got to a stop before Southwick and a bloke put his hand out for the bus. Bus stopped. Driver opened doors. Bloke proceeds to blame this driver for the 939 (due twenty minutes earlier) not turning up. Driver told him he couldn't contact control to find out where it is as it would delay the bus. Bloke proceeded to name Go North East the world's most ************************************************************************************************************************************************************ bus company and *s to that effect. Driver apologised, shut doors, drove off. Some people are STUPID! Oh, aye, 939 so far twenty late... blame 56 driver... nonces!!!!!

You can't just go around accusing someone of being a toucher because he's angry his bus is late. To be honest, the "can't do" attitude doesn't help the situation either. I'd be quite aggravated myself if a works service was that late, as it's usually the difference between getting to work and not.

Ah, sugar, I should've mentioned that the 939 was indeed late, it left Park Lane ten minutes late, though it left before me, and we didn't overtake it... I think the attitude wasn't 'can't do' but more of a 'please stop swearing at me I genuinely can't do anything about it'. In actuality, I think my driver was a bit confused between the 06:50 (being complained about) and Stanley's 07:10 as the driver at one point said, "it's not even this company mate, my control know nothing about it".

Anybody have any theories on the apparent allocation swap between the 42 and 61? The 42 uses the 'Every 15 Minute' SimpliCity Versa's (8320-8324) with the 61 using the 'Every 10 Minute' SimpliCity Versas (8325-8329)

The individual service branding has never mattered. That's been the case now since service 36 was revised to be every 12 minutes as opposed to 10.
I think the branding advertises the brand network ("SimpliCity") rather than advertising a specific service within the brand. Perhaps it would be worth adding vinyls so it says 'Every 10-15 minutes' instead, similar to Stagecoach's "Here comes the SUNderland bus".
I don't know why this individual branding is being brought up so much as of late - we never really talked about it when 'Every 12 minute' branded Versas (36) appeared on an 'Every 10 minute' branded service (42).

Im with you there squire...

Does it actually really matter what it says every 10/15 minutes, as long as a purple bus that says simplicity turns up, your average joe on the street is not going to notice it, so what does it matter, only sad old fools like me pick up on things like that and even I couldnt give a monkeys toss about it Wink
RE: Go North East - Latest
It seems there is another fire in Stanley town centre.
Not sure if it is affecting bus services, but it is just behind the bus station.

Go North East's fleetlist appears to have been updated to amend the error which we previously discussed in regards to it containing all vehicles down as Percy Main based. Further vehicles have also been added when the fleetlist was being amended.

Deptford:
6084 NL63 XBS
6085 NL63 YHN
6093 NL63 YHW
6094 NL63 YHX
6095 NL63 YHY
6096 NL63 YHZ
6097 NL63 YJA
6098 NL63 YJB

Percy Main:
6101 NL63 YJE
6102 NL63 JYF*
6103 NL63 XBT
6104 NL63 YJG

*One would assume this is supposed to read NL63 YJF?

No red spares have yet arrived, and I believe a further 3 Cobalts arrived prior to today.

Today's arrivals included NL63YCJ, NL63VJH and NL63YCN - all of which are silver for Cobalt Clipper.

Three orange B9s are now fully branded - 6094 and 6096 being two examples now ready for transfer.

15:00pm 50 from Lambton heading to South Shields was a Plain Red Wright Solar, No idea if this was 4944 De-Branded ready for the New GNE Corporate Livery or whether Chester le Street have Received one of the Y-Reg Solars which has been Repainted from Deptford, as the Wheels were also freshly Repainted Silver. Anyone who works for Chester le Street Depot on the NEB Forum like to shed some light on this.

Edit: 15:20 through Lambton heading to Durham is also a Red Solar, Could the Wheyaye50's be getting repainted now.

Woah! I was only making an observation, I'm not really bothered just wondered if there was some sort of reason! The SimpliCity brand name is what matters but it seems rather odd that the correct allocation for the Versas appear to be the wrong way round.

I know you were, and I was just commenting on your query/observation - it has always happened, and I don't see it changing any time soon for the aforementioned reasons.

It didn't appear to be earlier, unless my phone cocked up when copying and pasting them. Possible, of course, it's been updated again.
