(09 Aug 2020, 12:53 pm)AIG20 wrote ADL E300s 27724 & 27725 don't appear to be getting used at Walkergate and there are also still quite a few full size single deckers out of use at both Stockton and Slatyford, as normal pre-lockdown service has not resumed yet.one of 27724/5 was on short 40's yesterday (extra city centre trips in West End)

Will the scholars services interwork with normal services or are they standalone, if so will they be replacing any other vehicles?

(16 Aug 2020, 8:37 am)Benny wrote Whilst we would all like to see different buses, double deckers are simply not an efficient viable option for most places in the North East in today's climate.I agree with you. Also, it seems that their move is to be used on new school contracts, so Stagecoach won't buy new buses for those. These DDs are a lot more modern than the ex-London buses, such as 52-plate Tridents and Wright bodied B7TLs , that are used on some scholars routes. They maybe used on normal routes as well as scholars, too.
The North East has a modern fleet, all things considered. There is no point sending older buses to depots just to 'mix it up', sure it would be nice to get a double decker every now and then, especially to give passengers breathing space, but you look at the likes of the 58 and the decker on their barely has anyone upstairs.
