Hmm, so that means the night bus services will be £1 as well won't it?
I can't see them making much money from them

All night services on 56 and 60 too according to Nexus.

A very early morning service on the 4 too, to serve Amazon I assume?

Good news on night services returning which the city certainly lacks in.
Difficult one though as do we lack night buses due to low demand, or is there low use due to lack of options.
I know Stagecoach trialled a few night routes was it 2 years back now, but they were discontinued.

Two very late services on the 50 after the 50A finishes too

We had a staff notice at Deptford last week I think and it mentioned the 4/50/56 as nightbuses. Timings would be changed to fit around shift times as Amazon. They will also run 7 days/nights per week.

N21/N56/N60 looks to be every night of the week too?

The 50 additional journeys look a bit odd, unless its some sort of contract.

Assuming the 4 isn't going to be doing the full route and will terminate part way?

On the GNE website (from the 29th) it shows as the running a full route journey departing Houghton at 02:06 along with an early morning journey from follingsby to the galleries at 05:11, plus journeys towards heworth at 05:10, 05:25 and 06:48.

When did the 21 last run every night of the week? 2012ish?

Later services on a night and increased frequency on a Sunday too!

I'm sure the service itself started earlier than that, I think in about 2007 as I used it then but that was on a weekend. I can't remember whether when they launched it they had it seven nights a week straight away or not.

Just saw an Angel with ‘Night owl’ text/graphic on the rear - again one I hadn’t noticed before. I wasn’t close enough to read the rest of it but guessing it could be to promote the N21?

Aye, pretty sure it went full 24 hours on launch.
Definitely in the period you mention, may have even been a year earlier.

Prestige's had been moved on to other routes by that point I think.

I think I recall some of the East Lancs Lolyne's having "21 - 24 hour service" branding on them.

Yeah they did, along with the single decks. I have a feeling it lasted until the pink Angel mess kicked in

Think it was the ones that ended up on the 93/94 when the Omnicities arrived in 2007 and things turned pink.

It was at the same time as when they changed the numbering so that all the services were numbered 21 regardless of whether they were going to Durham to Waldridge Park. They later realised how ridiculous that was and numbered the Waldridge ones 22.

Wonder if they'll decide to change other services in the future to run later.

Surprised Go North East haven't released anything about it yet, they're normally early when they extend services etc.

Would be nice to see. But it will only be service that are popular so services like basic all of North Tyneside won't have late buses

With all the developments at the Quayside and Great Park, a night service for the Q3 could be expected or at least extra journeys for early morning ones.

Dont think a Q3 night service would work, given stagecoach tried similar with the N39 and didnt really work. They could extend the evening service on Q3 to wallsend which would be a good idea I would use to get to the Ouseburn area.

Pretty sure they were only ever seen as a short-term measure.
Omnis on the way and the only difference between this being on the 777 one week and the 24 hour 21 the next, was that sticker on the side.

Not saying you're wrong. I doubt you are. Just wanted to suggest as the Q3 has Wallsend and the Quayside unlike the N39 maybe it would actually work. Night services don't seem too popular in the North East. We just need late evening and early morning buses. For me, Sundays are the only issue. Q3 and 33A are my only services on a Sunday morning, and really only the Q3 runs early on a Sunday, 33A starting about 9am,which is usually fine. A limited service really should be abail9on a Sunday. 74 for example cuts off many communities on Sundays and Monday to Friday evenings. Perhaps the £1 fare will help evening services, maybe a Sunday fare could be introduced?

Stagecoach ran N buses. They didn't last long. If I remember correctly they ran for about 7 months then got withdrawn. Even then there routes were really complicated. I remember seeing on one of the bus stops near the coast road where the 62/63 go. The N1 ran along there for some reason

Stagecoach tried the N services twice, remember the first attempt as they picked up at central station and were using the brand new transbus E300 at the time . I think GNE are missing out on the Q3 evening services over the full route, given the popularity of the Ouseburn/quayside area
