RE: VOLTRA
(11 Jun 2021, 9:41 am)Adtrainsam wrote Isn't the PVR for the 58 7 or 8?

Unless there's plans for a reduction in service frequency to 15 or even 20 minutes (which wouldn't be popular), I would assume GNE wouldn't want to pursue a mixed allocation for a route with some electric buses. My guess is the whole batch would be for the 58 with 1 or 2 spare which could be used for the 33/33A in Newcastle.

Presumably these are also E10s and not E12s so the reduction in capacity wouldn't be great for the X66.

Oops typo!, I meant the 57!, just edited my post as you replied.

Ah right, no worries. The 57 didn't spring to my mind earlier but now you mention it, it wouldn't be a bad choice for the E10s.

It would also be a tidier allocation.  This may be typical, but yesterday I rode an Omnicity and saw examples of Citaro and Versa on it too.
RE: VOLTRA
The 33 isnt a prority imo, remember, even with the refurbishment they had,the Mercs on the 57 are now 13 years old,and started their life on the 58,then moved onto the 43/44,then the 16/16A,all the uphills have tired them out
Kind Regards

I think what Michael Aaron meant is when the Yutongs aren't being used for their allocated services, they would most likely to be used on the 33/33A as it's one of the few routes which would be good for EVs due to it's relatively short nature, although wouldn't warrant an order financially.

Them mercs are still fine and have decent amount of life in them.
God know whats these new buses are gonna go on. If there is 9. Idk who suggested the 58 since they got a repaint recently. But might be for the Q1/2 and there pvr could be reduced

I'm going for the 57 and X66 - PVR of 8 combined - leaving another spare

PVR 16 overall with 2 spare.

Will be 17 with 1 spare I think. With the X66 going back up to every 7/8 mins, the PVR has increased back to 4.

Didn't even know it had increased again.

I thought it was decreased to 3 as it didnt go round the metrocentre after the Coater replaced it

It did reduce to 3 initially as the frequency between the Interchange and Gateshead was left at every 10 minutes. Now they've increased it back to every 7/8 as it was before the Metrocentre loop was added, it's gone back up to 4.
