Arriva North East: Rare & Odd Workings - January 2014

RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
Stockton Omnicity 4652 on 28/30 today. Joined by 15 branded Pulsar 1487 from 1647 svc 30 which then goes to Whitby as the 1745 5/X5. Swapped from Prestige 4039 which I had earlier in the day.

Whitby had Dart 1308 on svc 5/X5 again, joined (?) later by MPD 1743.

Edit: remembered some more... Stockton had Cadet 1922 on svc 5A and Omnicity 4652 had found its way on to svc 28/30 by the afternoon. Prestige 4045 appeared on short 27s by 3pm or so.

Odd workings today included Stockton Prestige 4069 ending up on the X1, once upon a time a regular working, now considered rare! Pulsar 1460 replaced 4048 (yes back on the road following its mishap the other day) on short 17s.
Redcar had Darts 1711, 1739 and 1309 on service 63, alongside one of every other type in their fleet (bar the Enviros - talking of which, they managed 3!!!!!! On the X93 today, 7502, 7504 and 7513!)

Lets not forget 1772 on the 15 this afternoon.

Centro 1923 is making an odd appearance on the full day working on the 6 (Stockton one). The last trip meanwhile, barring a changeover, should be worked by Pulsar 1454 off the 7.

And to add to this:

4006/7 both worked the 5/X5 today, 4006 a changeover at 1045 for 4658
4659 worked the 28/30
1755 worked the xx50 short 17s

Replaced a Pulsar that came in NIS from previous working and operated the 1105 ex Middlesbrough. Presumably leaving Middlesbrough now as the 1535.
RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
Mini Dart 1791 was on a X1 journey this morning, seen at around 8:20am in Cockerton heading towards Darlington Town Centre.

Thats the extra West Auckland starting X1, which runs onto Service 19.
RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
I suppose a rare working could be a school route they run in the Ryton area. Rare since they don't operate any services in that area as they gave up their Hexham depot.
RE: Arriva North East - Rare and Odd Workings
Stockton had Omni 4658 on service 15 today, while Darlington had Pulsar 1425 on X66

Aye it replaced defective Pulsar 1458 earlier in the day. It was replaced itself by Cadet 1907 onto 27s.
(Partially de)branded 27 Pulsar 1450 spent the day on service 15 too.
Mini Dart 1771 was a changeover on service 28/30 and I changed it over before it went to Whitby for Prestige 4006 so I ended up with 1771 for my last 21A Wink
MPD 1772 appeared later in the day on service 9 too.

Edit: Also, I passed Durham's 1314 on 57A in Deaf Hill.

1771 likely wouldn't have made Whitby anyway judging by the noise it was making, the burning smell and the sparks off the exhaust pipes as it went back to the depot Wink

Another day another Dart goes walkies, 1303 on 57A... Sainsburys 1759 had appeared on the 63 at Redcar by 5pm too....
The 1615 ex Whitby and 1815 ex Middlesbrough 5s failed to operate as Whitby didn't have a bus to do it with! Prestige 4080 spent the day on X93s.

Canny lost mileage from Whitby to the Boro and back !

Honestly not really that rare. It interworks with the 43 at Cramlington so B10BLE's and ALX400's are the regular allocation!

Oh yeah, my fault. Sorry. I'll get that done tonight as I'm going out now.

1501/05 both on Quorum Express duties.

If they dont interwork then yes, but pretty sure they do.
