6942 is still at Deptfoed but hasn't been used in service for a few weeks. It's last week was the week before half term and it was due to be PSV tested on half term week. Hasn't been in service since but has been moved from the dead corner to the garage a few times. I would put money on it being under repair.

6064 is down at East Yorkshire, think it was mentioned elsewhere on the forum.

6942 should be back in service after MOT this afternoon.

Hopefully no streetlites.

(14 Dec 2021, 7:43 pm)Keeiajs wrote IDK where to put this so I put it here.Problem with that is they are actually still seeing use presently albeit not necessarily on the 20, one seems to do scholars and the X62 from Durham to Peterlee on an afternoon for example.
Prince Bishops have been moved to every 15 mins, temporarily so while there are 3-4 spare not being used wouldn't it start cycling through the refurbishment.
One that I find peculiar is the Drifter Lites, atm at least it seems to have a PVR of 7 but 8 buses are branded with one often appearing elsewhere, typically on the 5/9.

That’s because the 60 used to be every 10 minutes so required 8 buses. Now down to post COVID service levels, it’s PVR is 7, but it does seem for weeks now, that 2 Drifter StreetLites often get allocated to the 5/9 from start of service, meaning at least one bus on the daytime 60 allocation is filled by something else. Bus times suggests 5369, 5373 and 5376 all seem to have started the day of the 5/9 circuit on Tuesday.
Allocating the one spare branded Drifter bus to the 5/9 makes sense since evening 5/9 interwork with the 60. But as to why that happens with more than one branded bus, is odd.

And there was like 2 drifters on the 9/5 but a 60 on the 2/2A. I think 5369/5376 either will become the dedicated spare for the 60, if and when they get repainted .

(16 Dec 2021, 7:29 pm)Keeiajs wrote If it doesn't matter why brand them, if they are going to be all mixed up whats the point in branding.Alls i can say is it is to make the buses look more attractive and to influence that the bus is a better source than a car.
When it comes to brands alls it really is is it being a bigger advertisement for a route. really getting customers to try this route if they havent.
RE: Off Road Buses
5426 had a massive pannel missing today as it was coming down A690, something happened and it must have came flying off. There was no sign of it on the bus so it may have flew off somewhere probs on the A690 earlier.
Was replaced when it reached Sunderland Interchange.

RE: Off Road Buses
Not sure it’s been mentioned anywhere, but a crusader B9 appeared to have broken down on Saturday while operating an X10 (I presume) the bus seemed abandoned in the bus stop at Dalton Park, for at least two hours, which did cause difficulties for other buses using the stop.
