RE: 6064 - Hybrid Removal

Hydrogen has to be seen a better alternative to EV, the batteries are a Nightmare and cost more to dispose of than make. GNE has ample space at it's newer depots to cope with an alternative propulsion..

Aye totally agreed there.

Personally think that is a stupid idea. If you need to use the pantograph then you need to have massive layovers to actually make it worthwhile and what happens if it comes in late. Sorry, you can't get on we need to sit here for 20 minutes to charge up or we might not make it.

If the technology can't do a full day from leaving the depot then it's not good enough, especially if said tech can't be charged up in a minute max. Otherwise it's just not practical in the real world.
RE: 6064 - Hybrid Removal
Now that 6064 is finally back will any more of the B5 hybrids be sent for Euro 6 conversion or is GNE not bothering and just leaving them as hybrids.

Given the 'success' or lack thereof of 6064 I doubt anymore will be going for Euro 6 conversion.

I can’t see it being likely due to the way 6064 has been going but it would make sense for them to convert the ones on the X15/X5 as there’s not much point in having a hybrid battery when the bus is thrashing up the A691 75% of the time it’s just kind of sitting there collecting dust really.
