Go North East: late runnings

RE: Go North East: late runnings
Anyone any idea why loads of 94's have been cancelled today?? Looks like they are running towards south end of team valley then just disappear and come up as cancelled. Next one from Salisbury is over an hour according to the appt??

RE: Go North East: late runnings
I posted in another thread about the 29 been turned at gateshead due to late running after the Leicester city game. I complained and go a very sincery reply from GNE saying how it was running 30 plus late and it was turned as the driver was going to run out of hours. They also said however that with it being an hourly service something ( they didnt say what) should have been put into place for the dozens waiting at eldon square! To make matters worse for myself went for a few pint to kill time and ive bloody lost my magpie mover!!!

Anyway Im sitting her wondering what somethings should have been put in place?? Any ideas ??

Your Magpie Mover? Should have been left in your pocket.

Probably spare driver in a spare bus covering the cancelled journey. I assume one or the other was unavailable.

6225 on the X10 today: https://bustimes.org/vehicles/gnel-6225#

Started 25 minutes late, 33 minutes late by Middlesbrough. Left Middlesbrough 37 minutes late, arrived in Newcastle 54 minutes late. Left Newcastle 42 minutes late, and is currently 47 minutes late at Heworth on the way back north.

There would have been a driver change at GHM between trips to Middlesbrough, so why on earth wasn't it regulated given that it's running near enough an hour behind schedule? Equally, it evidently cannot keep to schedule (assuming this is one of the ones limited to about 45mph for some bizarre reason), so why wasn't the vehicle swapped for something more suitable for the 1310 ex-Newcastle?

Yet more shocking service delivery by GNE and the clowns running Riverside.

Do GNE still have radios as if they had told a driver of the 21 or x1 to tell us to jump on his bus i would have been home on the correct bus magpie mover in tacked!

I have to question as to why it dwelled in Middlesbrough Bus Station for 15 minutes? Although frim what I've heard from a passenger, driver was in no hurry to leave, likely a ploy to drop part of their next duty. 6225 is indeed one of the low speed limited examples too.

Because........GNE think that Whickham and Dunston need 3bph to Newcastle and can't devise suitable interworking patterns to release more suited vehicles for the X10/X21, not forgetting that they've got high spec B5TLs running on a service that can't even sustain a full 7 day per week operation throughout the full route!
RE: Go North East: late runnings
If GNE are serious about sorting the mess out, they should go.......

Routes:
- 6 interworks with the 12 which is moved back to Consett, in exchange for X31 & X71 moving to Riverside

- X31/X71 (see below) moves to Riverside, interworks with 1x X21 per hour meaning that all driver reliefs can take place at Gateshead Interchange

(Driver 1) X21 WA > X21 GAT > (Driver 2) X21 NCL > X71 CON > X71 NCL > X31 STA > X31 NCL > X21 GAT

- Current X30 renumbered to X31 and runs hourly, half hourly via Whickham & Dunston with X71

- X32 becomes new service X30. 2bhp via East Stanley, Sunniside and Gateshead. Omits Lobley Hill Estate

- X70 via Lobley Hill Estate

- X10 increased to half hourly from Peterlee to Newcastle

Interworkings:
Consett - X70 > X30 > X30 > X70
Consett - X45 > X30 > X73 > X45
Consett - X45 > X73 > X30 > X45
Consett - 6 > 12 > 12 > 6
Riverside - X21 > X71 > X71 > X31 > X31 > X21
Riverside - 4x X21 boards standalone

**Evening & Sunday X31 boards possibly run by Consett interworking with 6, 12 and X72.

Vehicle allocations:
- X30/X45/X70/X73 - 13x B5TL (6308-14) / StreetDeck (6356-63) with 2x spares

- X10 - 5x E400MMC & 6377
- X21/X31/X71 - 8x E400MMC
- X21 - 4x E400MMC
- 3x spare E400MMC at Riverside covering PVR of 17x

- 6 & 12 - 9x E200MMC with 1x spare

- X66 - Temp single deck allocation (Versa, StreetLite) until EV's arrive

- X20 - Temp ex GAG/London stock....possibly some newer B9TLs depending on Angel StreetDeck cascade chain
