Now amended on bustimes as being for East Mids

Don't tell Harry Barker he'll wet himself.

(05 Jan 2025, 11:26 am)Hi lewisparker1509 wrote Don't blame him either. The 194**s are beasty. However, I've been told Walkergate is going fully MMC (double decker wise)

EDIT/UPDATE:
After speaking to Harry myself, he said he thinks the 105XX and 106XX MMC's from Manchester are for Slatyford, and Walkergate are indeed recieving Slatyford's 194XX.

I believe they need 8 buses from Slatyford to replace the hybrids as Manchester have sent 8 buses. So it should be 19430-19436 (6 buses) plus probably 19679 and 19389 as 19385, 19386 and 19388 have all been off the road for a while.

No, 10578 was brought north by a Stockton-based driver - it was taken north to Slatyford earlier today.
Likewise, 10579/80 were both brought north by drivers who live local to South Shields depot - hence why they are presently there.

There’d be no chance in hell Stagecoach would give Stockton E400MMC’s they don’t even need the 3 E400’s they’ve got now. I’m surprised Walkergate or Slatyford haven’t taken them and gave them some single deckers in return

yes they do actually, in fact they could probably do with more deckers.  The 36 can very easily get full, especially between Billingham and Teesside Park.Same with some journeys on the 37 38 and 59 as well.  I think certain journeys on the 39 get quite full as well and I have seen a 13 quite full before as well.

One is often utilised on service 35 which I think gets busy on journeys round school times, there's also a Sedgefield Community College contract from Wynyard which requires a double decker.

Stockton require those deckers for the Sedgefield College contract as well as for schoolday loadings on certain boards (as previously mentioned - one goes on the 35, the other goes on the first 13 board out the yard, which works a 58 beforehand as that board gets the school traffic on its first journey from Coulby Newham as well as hitting some of them on an afternoon as well).
There's also now talk that once Stockton goes 100% electric, 19678/80/1 won't be heading back to Tyneside - they may be staying on the south of the region as I understand Hartlepool's management have put in a request for double deckers for the busiest 1 boards out of Middlesbrough on a weekday afternoon.

This would be great if it happens hopefully could then lead to a few more double on some service 6/7 boards as well as a few of them can get quite busy.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
Does anyone know what's actually been ordered for Stockton? I know there's the single decker Yutongs coming but I assume there must be some deckers due aswell if it's going 100% electric?

Haven't heard anything on them, if so.

Yes, 73074 is currently being used for driver familiarisation at Stockton pending delivery of their own initial batch of 40. Might as well borrow one of Sunderland’s while their charging work is ongoing and they can’t make use of all of them - to make sure the Stockton staff are ready when they arrive so they can go straight into use once the charging points are ready.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
I been reading on Cleveland transit page on tees valley fleet that stagecoach Stockton are getting 64 new Electric buses this years. Has seen it on this page.

Due you know when the charging work at Stockton is due to be completed and when there Yutong's once delivered are expected to start entering service?

(12 Jan 2025, 8:18 am)lewisparker1509 wrote People still seem to misunderstand the whole CAZ. Buses under a Euro 5 rating aren't just completely banned from the City Centre, they are allowed to enter under a charge, so not really a fine, more like an invisible toll booth if you will.

I just don't understand why people freak out when a below Euro 5 engine enters town. Stagecoach obviously have the money to spend and clearly don't care about a charge. In all honesty, £50 isn't that much when it comes to cars/buses either, it's not like the X34's are perminatley allocated E300s.

But on the topic of this, I thought 36964 was Euro 6, with it being used on the 317 a few years back.

No, the 63 plates E200s are Euro 5 which is why they were swapped with 37312/14-19 which are CAZ compliant (even thought they are also Euro 5 but newer and are exempt) as they frequently ended up being allocated to the 12s and 22s.

Who said I 'freaked out' I was only pointing out that it had happened twice in 2 days while there is compliant vehicles running around on the local Shields routes.

Am I right in thinking Stockton are receiving their first batch next month? Has anyone heard anything about the 262’s heading to Slatyford when they get these?

Are Slatyford also receiving all of Sunderland’s 277’s when their electrics enter service? They have 4 out now and gave 4 277’s to Slatyford.

Has it actually been confirmed that Slatyford are getting the E200MMC's?

I've never seen anything concrete saying that or I've missed it if it's been said.

Not sure what they really need them for since they're getting their own electrics soon which will displace the oldest singles out.

Sunderland seems the more wise choice on paper to replace the remaining gas buses. The routes they run on 3, 4, 20 etc are strong routes and the fact 4 of the E buses have moved out would suggest these aren't seeing the rest out.

I don’t think it has been confirmed about Slatyford getting the E200mmcs from Stockton just rumours I’m guessing. But myself being a driver at Slatyford I was told by engineers that the company want rid of the E300’s 271’s and 272’s from Newcastle as they’re only Euro 5 with Euro 6 exhausts and just scraping through the emission requirements for the clean air zone. Plus I was hoping something would replace them awful 241’s haha.

27726 is at Walkergate from Sunderland so I’m not sure what the plan is with Sunderland’s gas buses etc.
