(20 Dec 2025, 9:03 pm)SN69 ZRC wrote ive not heard anything but the 32/32A is up for tender anyways for march so if they did get new buses for 32s, it won't be until after they've fully claimed the new contract. and its not likely it will go to another operator, but the possibility is still there.
also, they would need to buy enviro100s as the yutongs will not fit around jesmond vale. dont even think the smaller E10 varients would either

(20 Dec 2025, 9:34 pm)ReDemPTiion wrote They did almost lose it to Gateshead Central the last time it was up for tender but they couldn’t do it as they got the 35 at the same time they couldn’t guarantee they’d have enough drivers.
Would the E100EV not be too small for them routes? The 32/32A can be very busy around peak times, during the day and weekends they’re very quiet but Monday to Friday mornings and evenings they get quite busy. Unless they just scrap the Jesmond Vale part of the route. The amount of times they have to use Warwick Street because of badly parked vehicles but also the back roads around Montagu Estate only E200’s can get around them.

(21 Dec 2025, 8:42 am)Storx wrote The Yutong E10 and Enviro 200's are the same length aren't they (10cm apart)? 10.9m vs 10.8m I'm sure.
I don't know what the roads are like around Jesmond Vale but they cope on the 53/54 and the roads in the Coatsworth/Saltwell area can be bad for parking.
(21 Dec 2025, 10:12 am)SN69 ZRC wrote jesmond vale is barely even comparable to saltwell. 53/54s can easily be done by longer buses but whenever a slightly longer bus wanders onto the 32 they always divert away from the area.
the main issue isn't even the parking. all of the route in that area has yellow lines on one side of the road and parking on the other, and the stratford road/ouseburn bridge section is yellow lines all over. the turns themselves are genuinelly tight to get around
(21 Dec 2025, 10:47 am)Storx wrote Aye that's fair, must admit I haven't really ventured down there much tbh.it was both for the general and RVI so the route is still valid. besides, the CAV is offices now i believe.
Must say the 32/32A is a route from a outsider which badly needs changed, as the route in the West End seems very illogical these days going around the world to serve a hospital which doesn't exist anymore, as I assume it's original purpose was to link the General.

Would of thought they'd want them out in service.
