RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
Makes sense for Sunderland to loose some E200s since the 10/11s must be planned to be fully E300s with the frequency reduction. Wonder what will replace the gas buses then? Surely they can't have long left, given maintaining a full gas refuelling plant seems overkill for 3 vehicles.

Wonder how long before the gas refuelling system is pulled down?

One would assume cast-offs from another part of Stagecoach. 3 or 4 E400MMCs wouldn't go a miss for the X24 however...

I thought there was talk a few years back that the X24 was supposed to get 10634, 10635 and 10636 when Shields got their three for the X34

I'd imagine any E400MMC's would go to Newcastle over Sunderland.

It'll be interesting to see what Walkergate do now with the 22 frequency reduction as it used to be a dumping ground for the singles. Unsure whether it'll cope with them with the capacity reduction.

Some of Slatyford’s perhaps? Saying we’ve got 19 of them. I’d imagine the 364**’s will be leaving Slatyford pretty soon with the Yutongs coming in once the chargers are in.

36467 is now operating for Hartlepool, seemingly not replaced by anything at South Shields.

I’m sure 37301 is supposed to have been going back to Shields hence why Slatyford got 37317 from them but that move hasn’t materialised yet for whatever reason. 37301 is currently having to be used on the 6/7 due to issues with the CAZ.

Funnily enough, I'm in contact with quite a few Walkergate drivers who drive the 22s, and they said the managers have said that only double deckers are allowed on the 22s from now on. As of writing this message, I'm currently on the 22 on 27734. Face palm.

Can't say I'm surprised either, it's crazy the amount of singles Walkergate has considering they don't really have single decker work.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
73189 has returned to Slatyford from Sunderland just passed it on the at Gosforth on the 30 to Fawdon Park Road. Strangely it was tracking on the 16 then jumped across to Newcastle so whatever is on the 16 isn’t tracking properly. Wonder if that’s the start of them all coming back to Slatyford ready for the chargers to be installed.

It's horrendous the amount of singles they have! If I remember correctly, either the 116's or the 117's were intended for the 12's too, and as of right now, theres only 3 double deckers on the 12's, out of a total PVR of 9! And the PVR for the 22's has dropped down by three so surely that makes room to put more deckers on the 12?

I live on the 12 route too, and they always seem to put the singles on the school boards for some reason.

Forget funding for electric buses, we need f**king deckers!

Aye agreed, mind the ideal answer would be electric for the 62/63 tbh then move those off for the E300's at Walkergate then move those to Slatyford and get rid of the E200's.

All nuisance fleets really.

Looks like 36976 has now transferred over to Shields. Surely would have just made more sense to send 36978 direct to Hartlepool to tidy up the fleet list.

this is just a temporary transfer as sunderland has 19683 due to them been low on deckers

Does it say which depots? Which routes? Won’t be Stockton before you get excited.

This isn't a North East only problem as well, down here in Liverpool where I'm based now Gillmoss depot has far too many singles which then find themselves on high-frequency but also high patronage corridors. Might be just about alright for off-peak loadings but at peak times it's ridiculous and results in full buses which get later and later while waiting for the next double deck to catch up.
RE: Stagecoach North East Latest News
I know that stockton are not getting new buses this year because there are getting new depot built but I hope Newcastle and Sunderland get new yutongs this year that I was say i don't understand stagecoach handbook 2026 orders i can't read or understand it.

Couldn’t find an appropriate stagecoach thread for this:

Today at 14:40 there was a single deck stagecoach bus (no id and not electric bus)towed up by alpha along the A181 pass Wingate then on the A19 north , then turned off at Peterlee and entered the Peterlee industrial estate , it was followed along the way by a empty long bedded truck.

Funnily enough, at about 12:30pm, I saw a single deck Stagecoach bus (E300) emerge from the former Hunters yard at Tantobie as I was driving by.

I thought this may have been the start of the long-rumoured Stagecoach Stanley operation.

Good luck to them, if it is. It's quite a saturated market in Derwentside at the moment, with Lothian of Derwentside, Transport for Derwentside, Transdev Sacriston, Stanley Taxis, GEM Travel, Northstar, and L&G Coaches - many of whom seemingly share the same base of operations.

Perhaps that's why it was so mistry up in Stanley today. The looming fog of the upcoming bus war.

27509 was towed away from Hartlepool this afternoon.  35234, 35236 and 22890 also seem to have gone.  22413, 22887 and 34605 still to go.

How much was damaged though Glen.If just the odd panel then I would doubt they will repaint full bus. Also as all were delivered in previous livery it will be a few years before they start painting them.
