RE: Redcar depot
I can only agree. Damaging any vehicle you are responsible for should be disciplinary matter and potential return to the driving school. In this situation though depot managers would be ove-worked and their wouldn't be enough hours in the day to re-train drivers.who shouldn't really need it.
I had the mis-fortune to travel with one such only this morning. In the first instance he couldn't operate the vehicle correctly and lost time. Then when he worked things out drove,in my opinion, dangerously to make his time up.
It would have been worth reporting but have you tried engaging with Arriva Customer services??

Poor driving standards from so called professional drivers.

It's cars to blame who are inpatient  and force there way through  a car caused 4504 damage  so it's not careless bus driving  it's idiot car drivers with no common sense to let the bus through  how I know that about 4504 i was on board at the time

I'd concur with this assessment.  I was on a bus once that had to go along a section of road with cars packed all along one side, with only room for one line of traffic to go through.  Part way down this section, a car appeared from the opposite direction, entered the same section of road, then proceeded to drive onto and along the pavement rather than wait five seconds for the bus to clear.....

The roundabout in Saltburn and the crash barriers on Saltburn bank - just two places on the route that have been decorated in Arriva colours.

RE: Redcar depot
Lets be honest. The drivers on the X4 do have a torturous tine of it. A potentially punishing schedule to maintain, difficult passengers to deal with and the acting as an information point for the many tourists. Then of course we have to take into account the route conditions. Two areas have just been mentioned? Saltburn Station Square with people's inconsiderate parking - would double yellow lines make a difference? And of course the notorious hairpins on Saltburn Bank! How many times have I being sat on an X4, the driver has swung out to get position and still some drivers insist on coming down. At least the Evoras have the pulling power to make things easier.

I’ve seen a photo of 7598 through people that work for arriva and it is indeed getting branded as we speak, it’s a newer updated version of the previous one carried by 7609/10

Four Enviro400MMCs have recently transferred from Arriva Midlands to the North East fleet. Two of these are destined for Whitby’s Park & Ride P1/P2 services, which will be reintroduced at the end of the month. 7598 (YX72OEB), after a few weeks running for Redcar and Whitby, is currently at Durham depot receiving the overall wrap for the new Park & Ride livery. 19/03/26

Nothings been officially said but It’s most likely going to be Wythall in the West Midlands. Arriva recently donated a Scania there

Thanks for your reply. Hopefully something is confirmed at some point. Wythall Transport Museum worth a visit or not?
