I'm at Deptford, and never heard nothing as yet,

How long before its on the 21, i give it 3 weeks.

Just what we need..more ex London G2s!..swear we are a graveyard for them!.

Assume these will go fleet livery?- or as someone has already put..are we going back to Yellow Bus days..now that was a curiosity shop of weird things that got painted into that!

Sure i looked a litte while ago at a London bus photos site and had list of all the GAL (WVLxxx) G2s and sure i worked out we had around 20% of all GAL ever ordered including amongst oldest, middle and newest ones (im not counting the acquired First ones).

Our set are a mixed bag- the latter LJ62 ones are better as had a bit more care taken on them!. The older ones are workhorses but not best internally.

Well we have had our significant investment with the Streetecks/Electroliners..so only fair we now look to 2nd/3rd hand GAG cascades to plug gaps and move our oldest stuff out.

Do you think we will see any single decker cascades to replace Versa's and oldest Streetlites?

From What I could guess is that whatever new order is happening for Deptford and the plans that are apparently happening for Deckers on the 20. I could see some of the Prince Bishops Streetlites replacing them. Just depends how long until this new said order happens

Will their new allocation be diesel ultroliners or are they putting charging points in

Are they not just standard diesels and E400MMC's?

Surely given Deptford is largely Wrightbus/Volvo in terms of vehicles types used it would make more sense to buy more Wright Streetdeck Ultroliners and then get Volvo B8RLE MCV Evora's rather than purchasing Alexander Dennis E200/E400 MMC's.

The current GNE B5's or from elsewhere?

I thought GNE didn't have enough to cover the full 20/20A PVR.
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.

Given the track record of the newest Streetdecks with both GNE and various other operators across the country, I doubt we’ll see many more orders for them.

I think the new ones at Washington and Consett are decent but that's just me.

Bus Vannin, Arriva Wales and Liverpool Combined Authority (Metro) for Stagecoach have also taken deliveries of them.

Unless its a mix of B5s and B9s which would make better sense

Apparently no more orders with Wrightbus,

On a different note,it's good to see Lothian ordering  E400XLB.  I recall when Martjn was at GNE and someone on the forums. said GNE wouldn't order them. One of the points he mentioned was there would be no resale value.  They would've been ideal for x10 and later on maybe they would've found  a use for them football specials springs to mind

Yeah thats true but you have to think and ask yourself

"Do Go North East have common sense to do something like that"

Your answer is no

True- but like London when started getting "bendy buses"- they might be practical in Edinburgh but not sure would work here. Do agree IF did go down that track- then football specials or ferry bus (Or even similar to Edinburgh- an "Airport Express" kind of service) would be good for

(20 Jun 2026, 9:13 pm)Retro Nero wrote Apparently no more orders with Wrightbus,

That wouldnt a huge surprise..but doesnt leave a whole heap other choices past ADL.

IF do go for E200s hopefully bigger than the X66 EV ones which are a bit..snug- pleasant ride though but as many have commented before..probs not the best size

Would they not fit into Eldon Square though?

The ideal option would be 12m Volvo B8L low height MCV EvoSetis. 7-8 years on the X10 then would probably still have the legs to tackle most other work. Could hoy them on something like the X5/X15 (PVR 4) and they'd be fine to also use on the X30s/X70s due to being low height.

Or ideally, Volvo build a standard B8TL (not tri-axile) with the ADL E400MMC bodywork and the Voith NxtGen like the Cummins StreetDecks.

(21 Jun 2026, 10:31 am)Rapidsnap wrote According to Buses magazine, this new batch of ADL 400XLB are shorter than the previous batch.

Actually, was the Plaxton Panther LE demo back in 2019 not 14.6m (still shorter than the InterDecks)?

If that's ths case, the shorter XLB especially with a single door will fit in Eldon Square.

Would be an ideal people mover for after late kick offs on the 21 and 10/10A/10B if any aren't needed on the X10!

The question is are GNE invested in the X10 longer term?

More like third hand in this instance.

Wouldn't surprise me if we end up more of the WVL B9TL's from Go-Ahead London (Metrobus) as the batch on the Superloop SL7 (West Croydon - Heathrow Airport) are due to be replaced over the coming weeks by BYD BD11 EV's that are currently being delivered to them.

Would we need more? Only way I could see more coming across to Go North East is if they are just spare part buses. Unless they wanted to replace the Enviro 400s with slightly younger vehicles, that is the only way I could see more Ex London Gemini 2s

I mean if it's true GNE are due more deckers there's going to be a fair few native B9s that will displace older stuff, so you'd think there wouldn't be much need. Like I keep saying though, I'll believe it when they turn up.
