Work to be done to improve services across North Yorkshire.Ā
Interestingly, there's mention of cross county work with Houchen too.

I wonder if the other 8x will possibly head to Arriva Durham & Tees for the X93 given the B9TLs are now over 10 year old?

The issue with the X93 is thereās very few vehicles available on the market that meet the requirements of the route. In an ideal world it would be Volvo B8 deckers however Iām not entirely sure they offer them as twin axel as of yet and tri-axles would likely prove to be too large for Whitby Bus Station and Depot

(24 May 2022, 1:27 pm)Kuyoyo wrote Following the fire at Potters Bar depot, First York have grounded their fleet of Metrodecker EVs. As such a number of vehicles from within the West Yorkshire fleet are now on-loan to York until such a time that the Metrodeckers can be reinstated.
Confirmed so far are:
Leeds Streetdecks 35203 and 35510 plus B7RLE 66743
Halifax E400 33875/6 and B9TL 37500TLĀ
A further 10 vehicles are on-loan - these are mainly tracking as Metrodeckers on Bus Times apart from one vehicle which is tracking as Wright Hybrid 39004. In addition, the Citaros are seeing increased usage - 11101 is tracking on 8s today while 11103-5 are making up the entire allocation on the 2 (recently, the 2 has been allocated 2 B7RLEs alongside a single Citaro).
4 years on from this - the Metrodeckers have once again been recalled and grounded following a fire in a similar example in London. This time however, loans are from far and wide and almost exclusively electrics, with a number of diesel vehicles on-loan to the two Leeds depots to cover for some of their electrics being on-loan to York.
At York as of today (9th July) there is:
- Hunslet Park's Yutong E10 68803/7 - these are exclusively being used on the 8 (Grimston Bar Park & Ride service) as they aren't fitted with radios and the 8 passes the depot
- Leeds Bramley-based Wright Electroliner 36593 36602 and 36608
- Leeds Bramley-based Wright Kite EV 63570 and 63572
- Leeds-Bramley-based Wight Streetdeck Repower 71028 (formerly 35202) 71029 (35236) and 71030 (35205)
- Leicester Wright Streetdeck Repower 71005 (formerly 35188)
- Bath-bound Wright Streetdeck Repower 71090 (formerly 35178) and 71092 (35311) - both of which have entered service as electric vehicles in York
Meanwhile, Leeds presently have:
- Glasgow E400MMC 33409, E400 33909 and B9TL 37739 - the B9 has yet to enter service, while the two ADLs are in use at Bramley
- Great Yarmouth 'Coastal Reds' B9TL 36283
- South Yorkshire B7RLE 69507 (previously a West Yorkshire vehicle at Bradford until last summer) and ex-Bristol B9TL 37588 (the only one of the ex-Bristol examples yet to enter service in South Yorkshire)
- Halifax's B7RLE 69557 at Bramley
- Huddersfield's Streetlite 69437 at Hunslet Park
