Thinking about it though, if it is diverted via the A182, it has to pick up the route into Seaham at the top of the Graham Way, for all the people waiting for it from Murton, towards Sunderland.
Essentially doubling back on itself from Times Inn Bank.

Ah right I am guessing buses are/were going as far as Deneside, then heading down the Graham Way towards the Polis Station and up past Fox Cover

Presumably.

I didn't read the full info on the fb page - but did note the problem was on the bank and buses were diverting via the A182.
Going from Acky81's sighting, buses have done a big loop, missing out the Times Inn Bank and picking up the route at the top of the Graham Way heading to Sunderland and going as far as the Times Inn Bank, when heading to Murton and looping around in reverse.

4908 replaced 4854 at 12.45 to operate the late 12.30 78 to sunderland. Assuming as dan said 4907 was also at chester, that was the freshly painted b10 heading out of chester depot at about 2.50 towards the A1 for a scholars run.

Straight swap for 4837/4838?

Is it not probably due to the 71 allocated B10s, the X25 allocated Scanias, however most of the time we've had B7s on the 71 & tridents on the X25. 4906-4909 will be allocated to chester for now to remove the deckers from front line services?

Or even move some to Stanley to remove some Olympians from the fleet. 6008 is obviously a B7 replaced by 5337 and 5338 but hasn't withdrawn an Olympian like planned.

4908 removed from that duty in the afternoon as I saw it not in service with an engineer in command at around 15:40 while on a scholars service. The scholars run you saw heading down the A1 would have likely been the 462 for a Washington school.

....with Tridents on the 71 and B10s on the x25 too.
Solars seem to be appearing on the x25, so can only presume they have been covering for the Scanias which are being branded/VOR/elsewhere.

The 461/462 from Biddick, were historically Philly/Washy routes.
Noticed Chester vehicles on them recently, so presume they have picked up the reign's

As far as I am aware, Chester are only doing the 462, one of the cover leading drivers said they were being assigned scholars so much that more of other depot's vehicles appear on them instead of their own because they've got so much to handle. They've got the ones at the school I go to which are 884 (mornings only), 885, 886 (two on a night), 887 and 888 (two on a night), then theres the 814 over at Langley Park, there is the 462 which they took over from Washington, and 836/7/8 over at Gateshead area along with the 844 for Thomas Moore, the Gateshead ones are handled by the miscellenous drivers. Theres probably even more, I think theres another over at Gateshead but I'm not entirely sure, and also worth adding, when Roseberry closed the 871 will cease to operate as thats their scholars service (it then goes and does the North Lodge 888 in the evening).

The B10s are permanent on the 71 but I think with all of the kerfuffle with the transferring and withdrawals that more Tridents, Presidents a bit of 8231 and 3983 are appearing on it. 4926, 4927, 4928, 4929 and 4930 are meant to be on the X25, and so will 4931 when it gets repaired, and thats due to low passenger numbers and the fact that those Lolynes could be used elsewhere.

RE: Go North East - Latest
4907 and 4908 should be replacing 4837 and 4838, which in turn will allow 8231 to be withdrawn from service, with 4838 taking the role of 8231, and when 4931 is repaired it will be withdrawn.

A 461 the other week was assigned a Loylne when I passed it one afternoon at Penshaw.
Unless there have been transfers, it must have been Chester operated.

Previous to that, I was wondering if the 461, ran onto an 88x from Shiney on a morning, as I often see a Loylne coming onto the Washington Highway at the A195 interchange or at Harraton.
No idea if there is time to do an 88x/461 on an afternoon.

Lolynes are still used on certain schoolday journeys as they interwork with scholars, but I agree, the passengers numbers are low off-peak.

I think all of the B10BLE's from the ''Wear Tees Express'' will be going to Chester, replacing 4837, 4838, 4839 and 4844 respectively. One of these should replace 8231, and will remain in service temporarily until 4931 is repaired. as 8231 is certainly on it's last legs.

That doesn't make sense. A quote from your last post was 'and when 4931 is repaired it will be withdrawn.' and saying that it will have a replacement until it is repaired is completely going against that. Im now confused Tongue

4928 was in the galleries tonight not looking too healthy. Parked up without any lights on and what looks like fluid leaking from it.

8231 will be withdrawn, sorry if it was worded badly.

Basically
4906-4909 to Chester
4837-39 withdrawn.
4844 remains in service temporarily until 4931 is repaired, which would allow 8231 to be withdrawn.
RE: Go North East - Latest
4908 had a comedy of Errors this afternoon 1st it broke down on the stand after operating 8 Service to Stanley got replaced by SPD 8231 and then 4908 broke down again at the lights en route back to Depot Chester-le-Street have only had that bus for one day according to A Customer Service Advisor he said 4908 is a Chester-le-Street bus while 4906/4907/4909 will go to Stanley i had the joy of riding 4837 today looked worn out the poor bus

I had a discussion with Dan about this, but he failed to answer the question with a decent answer Tongue....but why do people say she and her when talking about buses?

I suppose its a continuation of how people make reference to cars as 'her' and 'she'.

Personally, I don't see the point of it myself and I don't think that there's any decent answer that would convince me otherwise.

In regards to the B10BLEs, there have been no other withdrawals/cascades at present (as a result of the two arrivals at Chester). These movements are being done gradually though, so give it time. Especially given the reputation of the former "Wear Tees Xpress" branded vehicles and 4908 being replaced after one run of the Lime yesterday, don't expect miracles in regards to the time taken to perform the resultant cascades.

I think it is possible a Lolyne or two may be freed up from Chester to allow another Olympian to be withdrawn.

EDIT: Noticed my mistake - said 'Vyking' instead of Lolyne!
