I know. The Government granted Nexus £350m, and the original projection was £385m-£389m. I'd put the £500m more so down to sloppy journalism, as it wasn't part of a quoted source.

I'd hope no bus drivers would take up the overtime to cover strikers. Secondary action is of course illegal, but there's more often than not, no obligation for compulsory overtime. If customers are the priority then DB should make a proper effort to resolve the dispute instead.

Did Metro go on strike a few years ago when there was a big concert at Sunderland...possiby when Coldplay played there

I certainly re-call another similar incident, with the same quote being used as now: "It wasn't our intention to strike on the same day as a major concert - this was just the earliest we could strike".

More like "fuck you, we will try to cause maximum disruption" that is there intention, if so, why not strike on Wednesday, of course we know the answer to that, Striking during a major event is going to get headlines, I am all for the right to strike and all for trade unions, they do do good, they have my family members in the past

Not sure if anything's been put on Metro's Twitter, but someone has just put this on Facebook:

What the hell is going on with metro service. Not joking when I say there's about 200 of us stuck on the platform at Pelaw about 3 trains have pulled in and everyone's been told to get off cos there's a 'fault' with 3 of the trains. This is ridiculous.

And of course they should strike to cause maximum disruption. It's pointless otherwise. I'll be joining my local picket line on Wednesday to show support.

SETTLEMENT REACHED – ALL MEMBERS INSTRUCTED TO WORK NORMALLY

I am pleased to be able to advise you that as a result of negotiations by the Union’s Lead Officers and local representative a settlement has been reached that is acceptable to our member, Brother Pringle.

It is a credit to you all that you were not willing to allow this miscarriage of justice and voted in favour of industrial action in support of Michael. By standing together and showing such magnificent support you have made management come to their senses and make an acceptable offer.

As a result the General Grades Committee has cancelled all industrial action, both strike and short of strike, and members are instructed to work normally.

As a result of strike action by the RMT union Metro services are running a reduced frequency to all stations until about 4pm. From 4pm trains will not be running between Airport-Regent Centre, Benton-St James or Pelaw-South Shields. Trains will be operating between Regent Centre-South Hylton and Benton-Pelaw. Depending on the length of time the vinyl is applied for, they can leave behind some hideous marks which means that they would have to be repainted again.

Yes, the vinyl marks left behind on the windows from the Red Arrows cannot be removed.

The ex-London artics had marks left behind from London vinyls which could be seen with the old branding on the X66 (can't remember if you can with the new branding or not).
