Exactly the sort of the thing they can do on some services they decide to have nowt to do with on an evening or night.
Unless of course, the margin percentages aren't good enough, they can reduce costs or they don't have the staff to drive the vehicles?

My point was that operators up and down the country self-subsidise the quiet runs throughout the day by picking up the revenue on the return journey or during the peak period.

If they do this during the day and a little way into the evening too, they're in no position to continue doing that all night, if they want to make as much profit as they do now to re-invest back into the fleet to provide higher quality vehicles for passengers.

As I've said previously - if passengers aren't fussed about having newer, more reliable vehicles, which are fitted with Wi-Fi and power sockets, then I'm sure bus operators could self-subsidise all night long too.

My point being; there is more to an operator not running (and also bidding) for an evening run, than just revenue - or lack of it.

Going back to the original point; There is a lot more to a subsidised operator not accepting the daytime operators tickets too.

Some from yesterday saw 36 branded E300 24103 floating around on 13s and 24109(?) was on the 37. Meanwhile 22657 was reported on 7s!

Their a man alx 300 on loan to Hartlepool on service 7 also ive not seen 33101 for while normally on the 3s

35158(?) on 12s today in Sunderland.

22049 is on the X34. First time that I have been on a MAN in a while.

The E200 would be 36461 doing the 1440

As a result of today's duty changes on Teesside, service 38 ceases to interwork with the 36 at all times. As such, 22017's appearance on the 0815 36 from Stockton to Hartlepool this morning is now once again considered unusual (it also worked a 52 but that's normal apart from that one normally seeing E300 operation).

Another change as a result of this change is the end of the decker working on 36s.

MAN Enviro 200 on the 100 to Metrocentre at about half 11 this morning.

An additional ALX on the 36 now is 22488.

Meanwhile, 24109 is on 58s while both 24114/5 are now on 52s (24114 as a changeover for 17028 which was a changeover for 22469).

Yeah, the 0814 and 0826 departures from Stockton (which arrive back at 0848 and 0900) work off the Macmillan school runs on schooldays. As does the 0824 52 from Owington Farm. As such, the buses that do the 0838, 0850 and 0902 58s (which are the 3 buses that will be operating on the 58s now) each get a 12 minutes layover in Stockton from arriving off the 52 to going out on the 58.

The driver from 22049 this morning had 39712 on the Ecos this afternoon. Guess that he pulled the short straw . Both 39712 and 22049 were out at 6PM.
