In rugby if I get the ball I just throw it off the pitch, then the teacher sends me away. This year we are in sets for Games so hopefully I'll be with people who are a similar level of ability to me (in other words, standing there doing nowt)

I don't get angry or pissed off, I only do it to irritate the teacher, and then he sends me away Wink

(01 Sep 2014, 5:34 pm)Dan wrote No good! That's why I usually get in on the hour too.
I shall be making ample use of my free periods on Monday (1355-1455), Tuesday (1035-1135, 1500-1600), Thursday (all day until 1500) and Friday (0915-1015) instead. Wink

W'hey, getting in at half 10 instead tomorrow - then I think we can piss off home or to town or whatever after two hours. Good crack!
We start Wednesday Big Grin don't even have my timetable, or know who my form tutor is yet so... Loved my old form as it was an IT room enabling us to use the Internet for "assistance" for the homework Wink And to make it all worse, the bus that used to come 10 minutes after school finished, giving ample time, now comes 5 minutes after, fine normally but if you've got a dodgy teacher at the other side of the school you're struggling...
RE: School
(01 Sep 2014, 5:35 pm)Tom wrote Out of interest Dan, do you get free periods in Y10/Y11?

We never got any free periods in Y10/Y11, but I left in 2002. Got plenty in college though, but I believe it was at least 16 hours teaching time. They did stipulate that you should be on site between at least 9am-3pm, but I used to just turn up for my earliest lesson, then pub in between lessons. Smile

I used to find it good crack. We always had our 4 hours in 2 hour blocks, so we'd usually have a Mon and Fri afternoon just for PE. Didn't enjoy it Yr7-Yr9, as they tried to get you to do a bit of everything. In Yr10-Yr11 though, they just let us play 7-a-side or 11-a-side football.

It's all right when it's football.
But its when they make us do athletics, rugby and gymnastics. I only like football or swimming (we do that often as we have a lesiure centre attached to our school)

When I was at college "go to the library" was heard to most as "naff of into Fram for two hours" although I was the sad sack who would stay the two hours and do the work although doing it at college meant I didn't have to do it in my spare time although I think it is a little sad standing outside Pizza Time for two hours.

How is everyones new timetable? Mine is actually quite bad, but as I'm in Set 1 for MFL I get to do German instead of French, which is actually better than French (and easier!).

Unlike last year, Friday is my worst day, no form lessons, all shite like MFL, Maths, English and Games.

Not bad, does history/geography change weekly, so one week its 1 subject, next its the other subject?

My worst day was in year 11:

Monday
P.E
Maths
Break
English
Lunch
Science
Graphics

3 worst subjects ever!

Aye, designed to confuse. I've got Teacher A on Monday Period 3, and Teacher B on Tuesday 4 & Friday 1. When we started this year, I started History on Tuesday with Teacher B, and continued with him today. On Monday, I'll get Geography on Monday 3, then History on Tuesday 4, but Geography on Friday 1. So basically, each Friday one lesson changes every week. I still can't get my head around it.

Excuse the colourful "Homework Diary", made even more colourful during a lesson this week, but mine is below...
.jpg 20140905_233928.jpg

Period 1: 0915-1015
Break: 1015-1035
Period 2: 1035-1135
Period 3: 1140-1240
Lunch: 1240-1350
Period 4: 1355-1455
Period 5: 1500-1600

My worst day is Wednesday, as it's the day I don't have any frees!
Until earlier this week, I was free all day Thursday apart from Period 5, but someone cocked up my timetable which means that I now have Monday afternoon free instead.
No General P.E for me, as it clashed with English, which in turn means I get an extra free compared to everyone else! Big Grin

I wish! You've gotta go in for registration, then you're free to do what you like.
Think the rule is that you're meant to stay on the school grounds while lessons are in place, but nobody has actually specified this, so people have been going home early or just wandering into town... Obviously, I've not done this... Dodgy

Thats stupid...least you have time to study, i go back and start a unit about research on the tuesday, it will run all year so its not bad....

Its a 500 words proposal then 3500 on the research project.

This year though, im gonna stay for a extra hour or couple on the days im there, kinda slacked last year... i'm not sure what im gonna do it on but i might do it on children with special needs

Yeah, I intend on staying in for my Period 4 on Mondays but can't see myself staying in for Period 5s.
Period 1 frees will probably be used to wake up. Tongue
The others in the middle of the day will be used to work - or that's the plan!

Know my Media Studies coursework needs a 1,500 word evaluation - though I'll end up doubling it at the very least (I always do). My GCSE one was 500 words I think... I ended up with 2k+. Blush

1500 isnt bad, i was the same last year, some i went way over the limit, some i just got to the limit because the info i put in, was what i needed by 1800 words (not including my bibliography)

Yes I don't think I'll be bothering with it next year (even though we have to do it, I'll come up with an excuse), as it's a load of shite. You shouldn't be forced to learn about religion if you don't want to.
