Saw what appeared to be a Kingsley's tri-axle decker on the back of a lorry transporter - not sure where it was going though. It just looked quite big at the back - I think it was a tri-axle anyway.

Ah - I didn't get a look at the reg obviously because it was moving and chained up. Looked like a pretty heavy vehicle.

I passed it in Consett yesterday when it was still undergoing repair by the engineer. It looked in a pretty bad state - I thought it had been in some sort of incident on first glance.

I managed to snap a couple of photos with my phone.

Surprised they've lost the 461 (if they have). They've been doing it for as long as I can remember. Back in 98/99 I had a few trips to a friends on the 461 when they used to use Atlanteans on it.

Not sure if it's new, but Kingsleys seem to have a plain white LDV Convoy bx04pwk.

Kingsley's Evolution 104 passed Tyne Dock at 10.15 this morning in the direction of South Shields so I assume a day of odd working on the 33.

Yup, the Lothian Dart has made its daily appearance on the 33 again today.

The Lothian Dart(109) was on the 33 again today with 106(Man Evalution)

252 is on the 960 this morning heading up john reid road now

960 didn't turn up this morning because the driver didn't turn up for work so it eventually ran at 08:45

No contingency plan? I thought someone with non-driving duties (but obviously a licence holder) would cover until a replacement driver can be sought? Surely cheaper than the lost mileage fine that's on its way...

Yes I would imagine Nexus have a rule that if it runs more than x minutes late it will be deemed to have not turned up. Obviously during school terms they may have more spare resources, at present they'll only have the two 33s plus this 960 out?

My understanding was (and I may be wrong), but it was a deduction based on the average cost per mile or part thereof that has been lost. That should come from the weekly mileage submissions to Nexus.

Did Kingsleys actually gain any contracts after losing quite a large number? Find it quite surprising that an operator which is best known for school work can lose so many contracts and more surprising considering the amount of buses being drafted in since the Metrobuses were withdrawn.

Not sure how many contracts they do have but with losing so many, I can imagine quite a number of buses just sitting spare doing very little to no work.

Is there a reason why their Dart is parked next door to Dobbies Garden Centre in Birtley this morning?
