There's still a handful of T reg ALX300s that need to go, as they're not DDA compliant. I think Jan 2016 is the deadline for those?

Hi,

Quick question, I've always been a bit of an ALX300 lover - for some reason I think the lights look like eyes. lol

What is the 'deadline' for these ALX300s to go? I don't mind travelling to Newcastle, Sunderland, Stockton, etc, I'd just love to ride a few more before they get the bullet.

Thanks,
Marcus

The 54/06 reg ones should be here for a while, as I think they are DDA complient.

Brilliant. Thanks Tom!

I'll check the fleet lists to see where I can pick some of these up. Wink

Looks like Stockton are having problems cleaning the exterior of their buses too. Couldn't believe the state of some of the new E300s.

The Sunderland ones I observed today were fine, but pretty much all of South Shields' looked like they hadn't been through the wash.

I know sometimes if the temperture goes below freezing, we do not put the buses through the wash, mainly because it makes the depots like a skating rink.

Citaro is correct there. Also the small point that 27157-81 are the last vehicles in the depot to be refuelled and washed, as they apparently take longer to refuel than the MANs.

The buses were dirty because they weren't washed on new years eve, not because of the temperature but because they wanted an early finish.

It might be worth your while addressing mrnut85 with that question, as he is more likely to know than me (given that he is a driver at said depot). I certainly don't know everything! Smile

Not sure atm.

I'm hoping Sunderland get more gas buses this year but it seems unlikely =(
Ooo Friend, Bus Friend.
RE: Stagecoach North East: Latest News & Discussion
I hope stagecoach on Teesside get more new Enviro 300 or some other single decker. And I hope there get Enviro 400 as well.

VOLVO OLYMPIAN 16839 (R839 OVN) has had its SORN notice removed and has been taxed until 1st December 2015.

Bad News:
Dennis Dart/ALX200 33101 (R101 KRG) now has a SORN noticed attached - which shows that it has now been withdrawn from service.

Just wonder what will 16839 be running in Sunderland, I don't think it will be just for the park and ride in football days?

And any news about 16833 from South Shields? Have it returned to Sunderland yet,it seems that it's not on X34 for some time.

With the festive period over, I can't imagine that 16833 will need to be used at South Shields on the X34 service anymore.

Odd that Stagecoach are going to the expense of repairing the chassis corrosion on 16839 whilst giving it a full interior and exterior repaint. Could be trying to up the book value ahead of disposal (if planned for some time this year), I guess...

Does anyone know what the loadings are like on the evening 38s in Stockton I often see it running empty in Norton Do they get any council money or is it just a gamble

They are commerically operated - mentions at the launch of the new buses that the reintroduce was due to requests after the Ragpath Lane/Junction Road junction improvements saw the 37 serving the estate.

January is a notoriously quiet month during the day, even worse on a night

(09 Jan 2015, 6:34 pm)AIG20 wrote I hope 33101 (R101 KRG) is preserved; and the withdrawal of 34401 (NK53 KFW) increases the likelihood of the "53/04 Plate" batch of Pointer Darts being replaced in this/next years order, as this is the eldest DDA-compliant Dart in the North East Fleet.

34401 isn't withdrawn - it's moved into the Reserve fleet in place of 34615. It'll still be in active use at Hartlepool as 33101 and 34615 have been for the last few months.
