On a semi-related note, Nexus has published a public apology for the recent disruption on the system. Also on the news tonight, too.

Haven't looked on any Social Media pages to see today's excuse - but my train is 8 minutes late this morning, and I will miss my connection in Park Lane as a result. Thankfully I won't have to wait too long until the next bus comes.

There isn't one on the website or on Facebook.

You got: Central Station
From 9am-5pm youโ€™re always in a hurry to get somewhere, frenetic and harried. But on the weekends you like something a little slower, like taking a mainline train through Britainโ€™s green and pleasant countryside.

You got: Ilford Road

Youโ€™re beautiful, in your own unique way. A little haven of greenery out of the city, people come to you to unwind. Youโ€™re cultured, but awkward, and donโ€™t make friends easily. For one thing, you make people tramp out of the station and over a road bridge to cross platforms.

Youโ€™re often stereotyped as being rough, downtrodden and deadbeat. People see you in one way, and theyโ€™re wrong. Donโ€™t let the haters get to you: youโ€™re vibrant, beautiful, and have boundless possibilities. Go out there and get the world.

I didn't copy off Dan! Tongue I just made myself seem very anti-Newcastle (family support Sunderland).

You got: Airport
Youโ€™ve a yen to escape, and the means to do it. Situated right at the end of the Metro system, youโ€™re the person to whom people come when they need to turn their life around. But you leave people waiting while the driver changes ends.

You got: Jesmond

Hands up: you went to private school, didnโ€™t you? Youโ€™re the station everyone envies, but also hates โ€” because itโ€™s impossible to move on carriages bound for Jesmond between 8-9am and 4-5pm.

Only briefly read over the article (needless to say why, looking at the time), but I don't really see the point in colours at Central?

A more confusing station like Monument, maybe...

There are delays of up to 15 mins between Howdon and St James , up to 30 mins between St James and The Coast, this is due to a failed train.

How can it be 30 between The Coast and St James but 40 between Tynemouth and St James when Tynemouth is between The Coast and St James.

The fact that St James' is positioned in the notice before a station at the coast and also after a station at the coast suggests that one delay is for 1 direction and the other delay is for the other direction.

The trains will have layover at each end (St. James and South Shields), and I assume this will be around 10 minutes, hence allowing the opportunity for time to be made up when heading out of St. James.

RE: Tyne and Wear Metro
Thankfully hasn't affected trains, but there was just a power cut of some sort at Park Lane. All the lights and escalators went off, then an incredibly loud vacuum-like noise came on for about a minute or two, and then everything went back to normal.
RE: Tyne and Wear Metro
Not sure where to put this, but it's attached to Northumberland Park Metro? Tongue

Is anyone aware of the reason as to why the road bridge over Northumberland Park Metro has never been opened? It just seems a bit odd that they've built one with a road on, but haven't opened it for nearly nine years!

Extractor fans to remove smoke if they was a fire with it being an enclosed station. They will be activated manually, with a power cut or a fire alarm activation. They sometimes turned on in Sunderland Central if a smoky Grand Central HST is coming in to prevent the fire alarms being activated.
