It is yeah. Long gone are the days of the mighty VR, but we do have Cadets. Wink

As long as it doesn't involve putting the word "Gotta" in front of everything again. Tongue

Have you actually ever assumed someone was dead, then get a shock when you see or hear from them...

I thought my best friend from the care system was no longer with us, then got a message 4 years ago on Friends Reunited from him assuring me he was alive and well, as shocked as I was, I was actually happy and quite emotional to hear from him as we were brothers from another mother so to speak Big Grin

If he's making comments like that, you'll all be able to assume citaro5284 dead next week and be right! Tongue

Years ago, we thought this customer had died. Turns out he went on Holiday to the Scottish Highlands.

Mind saying that, I bet a few spotters have wondered where I've disappeared to over the winter, as I haven't exactly being active in the hobby lately.

I've got my 10 year one in about 18 months time, but I have absolutely no idea what it is. I'm pretty sure ours are every 10 years until 50, at which point I think they assume you're either retired or dead...

I've been where I am for eleven years now. I mistakenly thought there was a long-service award after 10 years. I felt a bit silly when I went into the office to enquire about my extra week off.

No - Marcus and I were travelling from Stanley to Lanchester on the X31 earlier today and we were joined by a young boy and girl at the front of the upper saloon. They were very talkative, and the young boy (no more than 10 years old) informed Marcus of how he was going on a school trip after the school holidays and how his teacher had given the class such short notice. He was appreciative of how cheap the trip was, however. The boy explained how the trip was to a farm, and how they would get to sit in a tractor. Marcus pointed out that a blue tractor was actually in front of us, and that's why we were travelling so slowly. All of a sudden, the young girl exclaimed, "You leave blue alone!" in a threatening tone, as if the tractor would be offended by Marcus pointing out that it was in front of our bus.

It was a rather unusual situation, but a funny one nevertheless.

Further to the above, I should add that my happy post for today should relate to the fact Marcus didn't ignore me when he saw me at Durham!

In fact, it was quite the opposite. I didn't recognise him, so I had assumed it was just a lad on the 21 sticking his thumb up to take the mick as I had my camera out, which meant I completely ignored the lad. It turned out to be Marcus, who revealed himself a few minutes later when I was on North Road roundabout taking photos!

Pretty sure you were on the same X10 as us, coming back from Stockton's open day last year!

An explorer trip that I did a while ago. Big Grin

After alighting the train at Newcastle, I went to catch a bus back to MetroCentre, not knowing the stands, I hopped on the number 10, I misread the number 10 as '100' just thinking that an E400 had been allocated to the 100.

I soon realised my mistake as my bus appeared to cross the A1, towards West Denton... not the MetroCentre. Big Grin

That makes me laugh every time I remember it Big Grin

We've all done it! I got distracted by a Versa on the 68 in St Annes, and ended up on my way to Preston rather than Blackpool as intended Tongue

Meanwhile Malarkey buggered off to Middlesbrough on the X66 to photograph a few of the Sapphire Streetlites which had just entered service.

Another highlight from today, whilst Dan and I were at Jesmond taking photos - Dan kept his cool while trying to inform two young ladies on good places to eat, to be asked the question (in regards to me) - ''does ya friend owa there have a bus fetish or something?''...while I took photos of Streetlites and an E400 in Jesmond. Big Grin
