What would GNE do in a years time if the Streetlites were failing to cope with the Lime and Red Kite? I'm not getting into any debates here about lightweight vs heavyweight but it's just a thought.

Could say the same about the Solo SRs on the Venture network, in a year or two more. They're still in good condition, but I think we all know they'll eventually start to struggle.

I say if the Streetlites are anything like the B10s, they shouldn't struggle. But knowing they aren't, I don't know, but I'm sure they'll still be in relatively good nick by this time next year.

Only time will tell.

I passed Saltmeadows on the way back from Gateshead Stadium today and seen 2 lime green streetlights just sitting there in the plain open. Great photo opportunity but I was on the bus. They look ok

If the Streetlites for the Red Kite and Coast & Country are set up like the Arriva ones down Teeside on the Sapphire Services, then they should be alright, the ones on the 5/5A are fantastic having used the Service from Middlesbrough to Guisbrough and back a few months back when the X93 B9TLs entered Service, I am sure Dan, Jimmi, Tyresmoke and Kuyoyo to name a few members will agree and say something along the same lines as I have.

Chester-le-Street's former "Northern" branded Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President 6022 (V322 LGC) has arrived at Saltmeadows Road for repaint into Go North East's corporate livery.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2015
Currently on 5274. What a very uncomfortable ride especially when stationary at lights etc.

Can we have the orders list now? Arriva and Stagecoach have already released theirs. Smile Smile Smile

Is there a reason for the secrecy with GNE's orders, I know it's been discussed in the past with the reason being that so competitors don't know, but Arriva, Stagecoach etc don't seem to care about that?

I'm afraid not.

Arriva and Stagecoach order their vehicles for the financial year at a group level rather than company level. All of Go-Ahead's orders (at least for this year) are completed at company level, which means that there's no press release which details the new vehicles that have been ordered for that financial year, given that each company will submit their orders at different times that year.

Another Streetlite was delivered to Saltmeadows Road this morning: Chester-le-Street's 5407 (NK15 ENW).

Stanley's former "Red Kite" branded Scania CN230UB/Scania Omnicity 5237 (NK56 KHE) has now been repainted into a plain black base livery, and will probably return to Stanley at some point this week.

Any Ideas on what time New Vehicles usually arrive a Saltmeadows Dan, thinking I might leave the House a bit earlier than what I need to in the Morning to see if I can get a few photos as they arrive, if any are due to delivered that is.

Any time between 8am and 4pm - so unless you fancy camping outside of Saltmeadows for the day, you'll just have to hope you'll catch one or two before they're either taken inside or stored around the back.

Today's arrival was stored at the side of the depot alongside 8293, similar to the previous two arrivals, as there's not a great deal of space left at the back with three withdrawn artics there.

Nah I have better things to do with my Day, like go to an Interview for example, think I will go past on the 93/94 on my way there and on my way back though rather than get the X1, hopefully might strike lucky.
RE: Go North East: Latest News & Discussion - April 2015
It will be pretty much pot luck Adam. I only got lucky the other day, because Marcus had posted that he'd seen them on the Felling Bypass, and I wasn't far away in the first place! Someone else had gotten down there an hour later, and they'd been shifted.

5237 was still in Saltmeadows Depot following Repaint as I passed on the 93, and was accompanied by X66 Streetlite 5391 which looks fantastic from what I could see from the main road, A Cobalt Connect Omnicity which appeared to be having Mechanical Repairs as it was up in the air on those stilt thingys, other Vehicles visible were a B7TL President 6022 which was being prepped for Repaint, A Renown and Drifter Streetlite 5376.

Outside the Depot I could only get Photos of 5403 (NK15 ENR) and 5407 (NK15 ENW), Think I might pop back out for a bit as it is nice warm and I cba to stay in the House, might even pass by Saltmeadows again Wink .
