Although I don't like the new branding, I do think it is an improvement on the last branding. I thought the same about the last branding compared to the original branding, too, so at least we're heading in the right direction if nothing else?
I do think the Kingston Park puns have been over-used, though. Perhaps rightly so, one could argue, as I believe the X47 offers the fastest journey time between Newcastle and Kingston Park, with the Metro taking a few minutes more (when they don't bunch up in twos and threes, that is)?
(08 Apr 2015, 7:34 am)Kuyoyo wrote With the Stagecoach Fleetbook due to arrive with people imminently, I can now reveal this year's North East Order:
Stockton depot are due another 17 ADL E300s - this time for services 52/58/35 (allowing the 7 64-reg examples presently used on the 52/35 to be used elsewhere) and services 59/61. At present, it is understand they will NOT be WiFi fitted.
South Shields depot are due to take 19 Euro5 ADL E200s. These will be WiFi enabled (same as 37143/4)
Stockton's 17 should therefore see the withdrawal of the remaining 12 non-DDA MANs in active service at the depot as well as releasing 5 of the DDA MANs into a reserve capacity to replace the non-DDA MANs in that role.

(08 Apr 2015, 9:27 am)Tommy_1581 wrote The single is £2.70, so I would assume that it's either £5 or lower.
(08 Apr 2015, 9:57 am)ifm001 wrote X34 does not do returns you will be offered the day ticket instead at £3.80 which can be used on all stagecoach throughout Tyne and Wear
(08 Apr 2015, 10:01 am)Tommy_1581 wrote Cheers for correcting me, I think SC need to have the day ticket on the back of the timetable instead of just single and week tickets.
(08 Apr 2015, 9:58 am)Tommy_1581 wrote If this is anything to go by, I actually prefer the new ***KING awful livery. This however, looks like something that should be in a toilet.I'd like to see Stagecoach continue this new style of livery and puns, could you imagine what branding for a service to Killingworth, I imagine it would look like... "I'd KILL to go to KILLingworth" and instead of a man in a suit it is a siloet of a woman on the floor looking scared with a man wielding a knife about to stab her.

I honestly do believe that the Kingston Park puns are a bit OTT and I know now that some people have already got a new pun for them
At least this livery doesn't look like a runny [emoji90] !

Sadly it would seem that this means no double deckers as had been suggested could be a possibility!

(08 Apr 2015, 4:15 pm)ifm001 wrote What's the difference between these new ones and existing batch of 19 36461-36479 other than WiFi. If nothing why bother introducing them if they are not upgrading just getting g the same. Give them to another depot who needs updates. They are too small in any case.
(08 Apr 2015, 4:33 pm)Dan wrote Well the cascades haven't yet been "confirmed", so to speak, so it's hard for anyone to give an answer to this.
These new Dennis Dart SLF 4/Alexander Enviro 200 vehicles can allow for a number of different cascades; however, the most obvious one which sprung to mind for me was the replacement of of the six Dennis Dart SLF/Alexander Pointer 2 vehicles (35190 - 35195) and fourteen MAN 14.240 LF/Alexander Enviro 200 vehicles (39701 - 39714) at South Shields, which would total 20 vehicles. These vehicles are Euro 3 and Euro 4 respectively. Bus operators naturally expect reliability to increase with the implementation of new vehicles and this provides scope for the amount of spare vehicles at a depot to be reduced, so 19 new vehicles replacing 20 existing wouldn't be too out of the ordinary. If these were to be replaced by the new Dennis Dart SLF 4/Alexander Enviro 200 vehicles, South Shields would have a depot comprising of primarily Euro 5 vehicles (19194/96/97 are Euro 4, 22050/67/70 are Euro 3, 22734 is Euro 2).
A possible (and sensible in my view) cascade for those 20 vehicles would be to Hartlepool Depot, allowing for the withdrawal of the earliest Dennis Dart SLF/Alexander Pointer 2 vehicles in Stagecoach's fleet. There is currently 16 Pointer 2 Darts allocated to Hartlepool Depot to cover a PVR of 15 on services 1, 3 and 4. There is currently 19 Enviro200s to cover a PVR of 15 on services 6/7. If South Shields' 14 were to join Hartlepool's fleet, these could be used to form the allocation of all of Hartlepool's services, with South Shields' Pointer 2 Darts forming the spare allocation.
(08 Apr 2015, 5:44 pm)ifm001 wrote But again why not just send the 19 new vehicles direct to Hartlepool. Does the Euro engine number really mean that much to South Shields depot in the long run.
(08 Apr 2015, 5:52 pm)Dan wrote Perhaps the services at South Shields which will receive these Enviro200s are more profitable than those at Hartlepool?don't know about profitable, the 3 and 4 (if they are getting them) are my local service, they interwork with the 7 and 8, which interestingly all 4 services main destinations are areas which are not served by Go North East, mainly Biddick Hall and Marsden. So the passengers have no option but to use these services to get to and from the Town Centre. Whatever happened to completion, where are all the competitors?
Must be noted that the Enviro200s South Shields will receive are manufactured by ADL, potentially replacing MAN Enviro200s. The examples Hartlepool have at present are manufactured by MAN. Hartlepool having practically an entire fleet of MAN Enviro200s assists with depot standardisation and will allow greater leniency with allocations.
