I used to love getting the baby Solos when I got the 90!

On Dan’s Twitter he’s announced the ex GAL B7TLs are starting to be sold off due to the new buses coming soon. (Admins please move to correct thread if this is posted in the wrong place)

Another set of buses gone from the fleet, with all the Vykings going and all but 3 of the presidents going (the open top ones staying) but looks like they're all going due to contract losses.... 20 presidents in total and 7 Vykings... big drop.

I wonder if 3 of the Omnidekka's might replace the presidents on the open top services from next year?

5 of the E400's going on the X84/X85?

Just going back to this so the bus getting withdrawn are:

3967, 3968, 3970, 3971, 3973, 3975, 3977 and 3983 (Vykings) total of 8
6920-6941 (Presidents) total of 21 (not including the Open Tops)
= 29 buses

Are some/all of 6901-6919 going too?, as they seem to be in really good shape, even at 14 years old? - or are those and the Omnidekka's taking the role of the school contracted services? - personally i don't know how it works with the contracts - and how its all worked with the allocations etc haha

Has it been confirmed that the Vykings are getting withdrawn? I know it's been assumed but just was wondering if there was any official confirmation given somewhere that I've missed!

Also, I can't see 6941 going yet as it was always said that it had a lot of money spent on it getting it up to scratch mechanically, hence why it was the only one treated to a repaint

I asked Dan last night on twitter and he confirmed they are.

6939/6940/6941 have been sold to L&G coaches.

RE: Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
My cascaded predication's:

B9's

14 B9’s from the Red Arrow to the 26/27

Citaro’s from Crusader:

Replace 5238, 5239, 5240, 5241, 5242, 5251, 5252, 5253, 5263, 5264, 5265 – rest to stay due to just been repainted and Euro 6.

8295-8297 withdrawn

13 B9’s from Consett

4 to Chester for the X5/X15 – Refurbished up to X-Lines standard + 1 spare

7 B9’s to the Loop + 1 spare

8298-8303/8304-8307 withdrawn

10 Streetlites from Red Kite

10 to Deptford to replace:
3 Scania L94
4 for the 61
3 on the X6/X7 (Until Solo’s can be sourced)

5481- 5487 withdrawn

6118-6121’s from Red Kite – East Yorkshire

8 Streetlites from Saltwell Park

Chester for the 13/25

8307-8309 withdrawn (3)

[u]5 Citaro’s from the X84/X85 - ??????? /u]

Other withdrawals

8 Vykings
21 Presidents

I can’t see any of Citaro’s going yet, apart from 5481- 5487, because the others have just been refurbished and most have been repainted.

---------------

When you get rid of the Omnicities and the older Versa (which tbh need replacing), there's not much left to move/withdraw... i do wonder if any of the Solo routes will get upgraded though?

----

Numbers probables wrong.... its just guessing

Tbh i didn't know which Omnicities were just in a spare role and we're already replaced.

RE: Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
I’ll kinda miss the Vykings.

Although the double door operation on the 21 was a failure it was a fairly innovative move to use them to solve the companies own disastrous decisions on the route.

I’ll probably look at them with rose tinted glasses vs the reality
Wistfully stuck in the 90s

It is interesting in regards to fleet standardisation, with E400 being allocated to X84/X85, when TVT is upgraded, no doubt we may see E400 being acquired for this route too

I doubt TVT will be seeing an upgrade for quite a few years tbh.

Wonder how the E400s will cope on the A69, also be interesting to see what they're like when it's a bit breezy!

It was mentioned somewhere.. if the E400's would be used on the Hexham 10 runs on a Sunday, would be good to compare them to the B9's.

But for depot standardisation, i would agree.

Well to be fair, if the 10s were the only purchase this financial year, would release 12 plate B9s to crusader. I'd imagine ex red arrow ones would go to replace older deckers as they dont have sockets.

If so can see red arrows just going straight into corp livery in the interim. Will have to see what the next B9 comes out like

Either way I'd imagine they'd both be refurbed before going on to Crusader, so adding USBs to the back of the seats wouldn't be much of a chore.

I suppose it depends on when the StreetDecks are going to start arriving, didn't MG say vehicles would start arriving at the end of the month? If they start putting them straight on the X1 as they turn up that could release them for a refurb, be it done internally or externally.
RE: Go North East: Withdrawn Vehicles & Fleet Disposals
I wonder if 6149-6154 could go on the Crusader along with 6049-6055 so they're all from 2012 and then 6001- 6006 will go elsewhere.

I know it sounds daft but if all of the buses from same year are on the Crusader, it might be a good move for the future plus all the ones above need repainting anyway.
