After contacting the company for info, this vehicle was previously registered as N990EAR and was initially on hire from Stafford Bus Centre in 2009, but the company decided to buy it in the end.
New to Moore AA,Saffron Walden / Viceroy of Essex.

New buy for Peter Hogg in Newcastle today on service 131 is Optare Excel YN53WZJ, another former Munro's motor.

Looks like Peter Hogg of Jedburgh have acquired an Optare Solo - YJ55 BGO.

New 131 route and timetable as of Monday 12th October. The morning journey will commence from Kelso at 0850 on school days, and all Newcastle journeys will serve both Central Station and Eldon Square.

Looks like that spells the end for Solo YJ55BGO

Recent acquisition for Peter Hogg is Solo YJ61MMX, presumably replacing the crash damaged one from last year. Was operating the 131 last week.

Thanks to Peter Hogg for the confirmation, there Optare Excel has been withdrawn but remains in the depot.

YN06RVY was on the 131 today, surely it's against DDA to use a step entrance vehicle.

Likely to be registered as a coach, so doesn't need to conform to DDA regs until 1st January 2020.

Even if it isn't registered as a coach, you can use it in normal service for a certain number of days per calender year. Thats how Lothian managed to use heritage vehicles on a normal bus route.

They have had this for a while now.
Shame it doesn't have a tachograph as it would be good to allocate to the 131.

One of the Peter Hogg solo SRs now carries the reg AH06BUS and has a wraparound "map" advertising their services in the Borders. It's 2012 registered so presumably another possible addition to the fleet.

Where is AH06 BUS and what is It's previous reg?

Had a ride on this from Ponteland to Haymarket today. A very nice bus. First time I have travelled on a Peter Hogg bus. Shame it only runs once in each direction.

If it behaves well and be a good vehicle it may become a real bus.

The vehicle impressed me! I usually travel Go North East, and sometimes on GCT. Peter Hogg made a good first impression.  A more regular service (even say every 3 hours) would make it more useful.

Do you know if Northumberland timetables in the stops are viewable in PDF format like Nexus ones are?

The vehicle is seemingly named Pinocchio, as seen under the right-hand side headlight cluster in the photo above - hence the 'real bus/boy' reference

I'm not sure why you'd need to do more than one run with the service. The current timetable gets you into town for a reasonable time and back to Jedburgh for a reasonable time, allowing plenty opportunity for shopping etc, which I presume is why the service exists.

It's much like the 689 from Consett to Hexham really, it's primarily for the little villages along the way that have no other bus services or limited alternatives to get into a major town/city then bring them back again in the afternoon.

Would be great if there was a bus in the opposite direction (to Jedburgh) to go for a jolly but don't think it's really required especially as I believe it's a supported service.
